Classic Volcano vs Digital Volcano Vaporizer

1

Being a pioneer in the vaporizer market, Volcanoes have existed for many years. Even today, the Volcano still sets the standard in terms of vapor quality. Over the past few weeks the units have seen a real resurgence in popularity. The one question we get asked most is whether to get the Digital or the Classic. In some sense it’s like getting a Ferrari and having to decide whether you want heated seats or not J

Classic Volcano vs Digital Volcano Vaporizer
To make things clear right off the bat: The Classic Volcano Vaporizer and Digital Volcano Vaporizer are fundamentally the same unit. The heating elements and valve systems used are identical and both units offer vapor quality that is hard to compare to other units. The difference is that the Digital model has a large display to set temperature digitally while the Classic has a simple dial. The price difference between the two units (approximately 140 bucks) is quite substantial though and many connoisseurs wonder if it is really worth getting the digital model. Let’s have a look at the comparison!

Temperature Flexibility

Having a digital display to set temperature increases the Digi’s temperature flexibility. You can set your temperature to the nearest degree while the Classic can only set the temperature to a certain level of accuracy which is denoted by a relative number between 1-9. The temperature levels move up in increments of 12 degrees with the Classic.

Increments of 12 degrees might be a little high for those temperature sensitive people, so having the power to set your own temperature to your exact desired level is definitely a plus for the Digi. Furthermore, in the price category, one may argue that having the power to control temperature accurately, is a must. After all, both Volcanoes give you the best vapor on the market and who wouldn’t want the best vapor at exactly their preferred temperature? Why save money on the tires when buying a Ferrari? You might as well go all out, but only if you are not price sensitive.

Additional Perks

The Digi also has some minor additional perks other than temperature flexibility. The Volcano Digi has an auto-shut off function. This can be really convenient. Many people forget to turn off their Volcano and the one thing that can burn out over time is the heating element. I would be a little miffed off if I left my unit on overnight or even for a few days. After all these are expensive units.
Another little perk of the Digi is the ability to use it in the dark. For some reason, many connoisseurs out there prefer to use their units in the dark (discreetness). A lit up display may come in handy.

Overall, both of these units are outstanding. If you are familiar with these two units and would like to weigh in, feel free to leave a comment!

  1. Seeing as the classic model is the standard by which all dry herb vapes are held, and has been for almost two decades, there is little to worry about from either model. The digital models price is reflective of what you are getting. Either model is of elite quality in terms of what you are getting for the money. If you are willing to pay the extra money, you should be able to get the fancy options, but that’s all it boils down to, is options. In terms of actual performance, nothing the digital model can do that the classic cant do just as well.
