Manufacturing Quality

The manufacturing quality for the Pico 25 is very good, though they could have done a better job with the name! That may seem like a strange thing to mention here, but I actually think the name is the cause of a decent amount of confusion. When there is a number at the end of the name of a vape, it usually corresponds with the amount of watts the mod can output. So in this case, the assumption would be that this version of the Pico can only deliver 25 watts. That assumption would be incorrect though, as the number actually corresponds with the maximum size of the tank that can fit on top, 25 mm! The maximum wattage is 85w.

That complaint has absolutely nothing to do with the actual manufacturing quality though, and the rest of the unit is well built. Like the original Pico, the Pico 25 is smaller than an 18650, so it has to have a cap to hold the battery in place. This also has a special chip that allows the battery to be charged at 2 amps, meaning it will charge faster than many other vapes. If you are someone who also uses 510 oil cartridges and other vapers have reported Oilax Cito is a good place to start.

The top-filled ELLO tank comes with the new HW sub-ohm coils and two different drip tips, plus it’s detachable which makes it very easy to clean. The airflow adjusts with a simple twist of the base, and you can also increase the capacity from 2mL to 4mL by swapping out the included glass tubes.

The screen is located along the side of the unit. It’s not very big, but it’s at least crisp and easy to read. The only real complaint I have about the actual manufacturing is the buttons. The up and down buttons are on the bottom, which I find inconvenient, and they also rattle a bit when you shake the mod.

Flavour Quality

The flavour that this kit delivers is also good. The HW1 coil as a single vertical cylinder with a 0.2 ohm coil. The HW1 coil delivers bigger clouds than the HW2, but the flavour isn’t quite as good. It can be used between 40w and 80w, though I found it performed best around 50w.

The HW2 coil has two vertical cylinders and 0.3ohm coils. This is the one you want to use if you want maximum flavour, but the clouds won’t be quite as big. Its maximum wattage is 70w, and I also think it performs best right around 50w like the HW1. Users who are interested in 510 thread cartridges for oil often prefer the Yocan Wit.

Power Flexibility

The power flexibility is good for such a small unit. You can choose between wattage, temperature control, and bypass modes. The wattage output range is 1-85w, while the temperature range is 200-600F.The resistance range for wattage mode is 0.1-3.5ohm, and for the TC modes it’s 0.05-1.5ohm. Like most vapes, the TC modes include stainless steel, nickel, and titanium, as well as three TCR options.

Ease Of Use Of Istick Pico 25 Kit

Ease of Use

This is fairly easy to use. In the manufacturing quality section, I mentioned that I’m not a big fan of the fact that the up and down buttons are located on the bottom of the unit. I prefer to have them closer to the screen because I think the device is easier to use that way.

This also has a traditional fire button rather than a whole side trigger. The tank is extremely easy to clean and fill though, so no complaints there.

Portability

The portability of this kit is good. The base is extremely small. Like I mentioned above, it’s so short that it requires a cap to keep the 18650 in place.

This means the mod itself fits easily inside your hand or pocket, and the tank also has a low profile when using the 2mL setup. With all that being said, I still personally prefer all-in-one vapes when portability is a concern. They keep the tanks inside the base, which I feel is better for carrying around.

Overall Experience

The iStick Pico 25 kit is a good option, especially for beginners.

The build quality of the mod is very nice, and you get all the power flexibility that most people will ever need from a mod. Experienced vapers who are looking for huge power to blow thick clouds may want something that can deliver more wattage, but that is ultimately a small percentage of people.

The ELLO tank is also very good, complete with the new HW coils and a detachable design. The two included coils give you the ability to adjust your experience for either bigger clouds or better flavor, and it’s also something I think beginners would especially like.

Another very similar vape would be the Vaporesso Target Mini, so you may want to check that out before choosing as well.

And for those who want a bit more power, be sure to check out the Coolfire IV 100W.
