Plenty Vaporizer Review (+Video) – the weirdest Vaporizer?

Updated: November 7, 2023

Storz and Bickel tend to make very innovative desktop vaporizers. This time they like to stray from conventional design concepts while still implementing the elements they’re known and loved for like their wide heating chambers and convection heating that makes for amazing vapor quality. The Plenty is anything if not an awesome example of German engineering at its finest. In this post, we’ll get up close and personal with the Plenty vaporizer to see what makes it good and what drawbacks this device features.

The Plenty is a convection-style vaporizer, although it is not ranked in the top positions when compared to similar convection-style vaporizers. If you’d like to compare the best convection vaporizers to the Plenty, you can do so by following the link.

Plenty Vaporizer Review

How It Works

How It Works

To get your session started, first you’ll need to flip the switch to supply the unit with power, then set your temperature and let the unit heat up while it’s in your hand. Make sure you don’t put the unit down as the unit will only heat as long as the trigger in the handle is being pulled. Next, fill the heating chamber and attach it to the unit, then attach the mouthpiece on top of the heating chamber to close it. Once the unit is fully assembled, simply take draws from the tip of the mouthpiece to enjoy your vapor! You can follow the steps in our video below.

It’s worth a mention that the plenty is a 1st generation vaporizer since it requires being connected to a wall outlet. 3rd generation devices have already hit the market which are portable and capable of similar vapor production to many desktop vaporizers.

Manufacturing QualityManufacturing Quality

Storz and Bickel’s high quality manufacturing is one of the reasons they’ve done so well in their long history in the vaporizer industry, and the Plenty is a fine example of that dedication to quality they bring to every unit. This unit is sturdily built with high quality parts and design like the stainless steel tube , PLENTY cooling coil, and the wide heating chamber that makes for a fantastic session. This unit also features all analogue dials and switches to make sure there are fewer areas where this unit could fail. This is a sturdy vaporizer that will last you a good long while. Users demanding the sturdiness along with more options for better control prefer the Volcano Hybrid.

Vapor Quality

Vapor Quality

The first handheld unit to be released by Storz and Bickel, the Plenty is a stationary vaporizer that uses its vapor pathway to its advantage. The unit uses forced air to create vapor. The air is pulled through the mouthpiece and travels through the long metal tube before getting to the user’s mouth. This gives the vapor more than enough time to cool on its way.

For a long term quality vaping experience we recommend cleaning the screens in your chamber on a monthly bases. Users who want a never ending experience of quality vaping clean their Plenty vaporizer using the Zeus Purifying Cleaning Kit. Furthermore, if you’re worried about the performance of your Plenty vaporizer declining over time, Storz & Bickel offers a Wear and Tear set specifically for the Plenty.

On the other hand, users have the option to use capsules to lighten up their cleaning duties but the dosing capsules would have to be purchased separately.

Now if you’re looking to get the best vaporization experience possible with the Plenty we’d like to recommend pairing your unit with the new vapor cooling device from ZEUSArsenal, the ZEUS Iceborn. This revolutionary device actually increases the vapor quality of your Plenty by 2 points, dramatically cooling it down for smooth frosty draws. It’s also much more efficient than other filtration devices that use water, so you can get even bigger vapor clouds! Take a look!

Ease of UseEase of Use

The Plenty is a very easy unit to use. Simply flick the switch to turn it on, then use the dial on the side to select your temperature and press then hold the handle to keep the unit from shutting off.

The unit heats up quickly and the use of analog parts means there will be less chance of anything going wrong before, during, or after your session. Users that prefer digital over analog lean towards something like the Arizer XQ2 which also includes programmable temperature presets.

Temperature FlexibilityTemperature Flexibility

The plenty has 7 temperature settings that vary between 37 degrees Celsius and 215 Celsius. This is a decent range of temperatures, but the first few settings are pretty useless, also the dial doesn’t seem to be as accurate as you would expect.  An analog display is included on the front of the unit that you can use to check the temperature of the unit.

It’s important to mention that the max temperature of 215 Celcius does not leave your herb as toasted as something like the Utillian 722 when reaching similar temperatures, not to mention the U722 includes a boost mode that reaches 225 Celcius all without the need of connecting to a wall outlet.

ReachReach

The Plenty is a great unit to pass around with friends, better than the V-Tower, especially since the handle needs to be held to keep the unit from shutting itself off. That being said, there is only one way to vaporize with this unit and the power cord makes it impossible to vaporize with more than about 3 people in pretty close quarters. Adding a bag or balloon accessory similar to the Arizer Extreme Q would definitely make it easier to pass around.

Users who like to have vaporizing sessions alone use Plenty Filling Chamber Reducer which helps decrease the size of the chamber for a single person.

OptionsOptions

Other than the optional Plenty Chamber Reducer which lets you vape with a lot less dry herb in the chamber, the Plenty doesn’t come with many options and there isn’t anything you can really add to it from Storz and Bickel. It does come with a liquid pad, but other than that pad, there isn’t anything else you can buy to really change the experience of this vaporizer from its original design. Many users tend to switch to the Arizer XQ2 for a higher range of options when it comes to accessories.

Overall ExperienceOverall Experience

Another strong addition to the Storz and Bickel lineup, the Plenty brings a very unique design to the table along with the same reliability and performance you’d expect from this outstanding manufacturer. The huge heating chamber allows for big sessions and efficient extraction via convection heating while the long, winding metal vapor pathway gives vapor more than enough time to cool before it gets to you.

Through testing, I’ve found the Plenty unable to reach the exact temperature settings displayed. As previously mentioned, the highest temperature setting available is 215 Celcius which does not seem to cook your herb as efficiently as many dry herb vaporizers that reach the same temperatures without the need for a cord.

Another minor aspect to mention is that the plenty does not stand up on its own when placed on a desk, users tend to prop up the tool that comes with the plenty to hold the device up when vaporizing.

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

Thanks for reading and as always, keep vapin’! 😉
