Arizer Solo 2: Electric Boogaloo – Preview

2

Arizer’s new vaporizer, the Solo 2, has finally been announced via YouTube! With units like the Firefly 2 and Pax 3 being released during the fourth quarter of 2016, the announcement of a new Arizer unit has been a long time coming, as the Air was released way back in 2015. The Arizer Solo is still an immensely popular unit and has consistently been one of TVape’s best sellers, so we are super excited for the new developments of the device.

What’s New?

The Arizer Solo 2 will feature a clear LED display, which is something lacking from Arizer units for quite some time now. This will allow users more control over their settings, allowing them to set the temperature down to the individual degree for maximum session customization.

We are happy to see Arizer’s commitment to taste purity has not changed, as the device continues to feature a glass mouthpiece. And if the Solo 2 uses the same size tubes as the original Solo, then you’ll also be able to use Air tubes to make the unit much more portable. This will also continue Arizer’s trend of creating devices which are easy to clean and maintain through the years.

The overall shape of the unit, from what we can tell, bears some resemblance to the original Solo body, with the unit being fatter at the top and slimming down near the bottom.  It also appears the Solo 2 may be slightly smaller than the original.

Our Takeaway

This is a more-than-welcome update to the Arizer Solo. The digital display and precise temperature control are exactly the types of upgrades we’ve been looking for, while the glass stems and compact build maintain the Arizer quality we expect.

A blog we did about the Habits of Vapers found that 81% of vaporizer users prefer a portable, on-the-go device (as opposed to a stationary device), and another survey about vaping routines found that 85% of vapers are still primarily vaping indoors. The Solo 2 looks to satisfy the general overlap by offering a portable vaporizer that will excel for home use with precise temperature control and great vapor quality, all in a familiar sturdy package.

The original Solo is still a viable unit even years later and as the old saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. While some may be disappointed that Arizer is not creating a whole new unit, we are happy to see Arizer sticking to their guns, recognizing where they came from, what made them successful and working to perfect the Solo, rather than abandon it all together.

We would love to hear what our audience think about this announcement; are you excited or overwhelmed by all the new releases? Also, be sure to stayed tuned to the TVape Blog as we will have more updates on this vaporizer as it becomes available, including the official pre-order!

  1. I to date have not yet purchased my first vape have been looking at the Air vs gpen elite price point seems comparable .. My biggest concern is the glass mouthpieces a friend has a Solo and one of her p broke when she first got it. I did try using hers once and found it difficult to draw on .. still on the fence in making the right purchase for me

    • The G-Pen Elite is a decent unit but puts its small form factor above the rest. The short vapor path can make vapor quite warm and harsh at times. The Arizer Air will produce a much smoother and flavorful experience especially because of the glass stems, but as you pointed out these parts can break. I would suggest also checking out the Utillian 720, it is the best of both worlds, its more portable than the Air, compact and doesn’t have glass parts, and it has convection heating and a longer vapor path which will get you much better vapor quality than the G-Pen Elite for a much better price.
