Manufacturing Quality Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit

Manufacturing Quality

The build quality of the Kroma-A is good, although it is a rather basic vape by today’s standards.

The max wattage is only 75W, and it has an internal battery with a 2000mAh capacity. The 75W is more than enough for most people, but the 2000mAh capacity is a little on the small side in my opinion. To be fair, the vape itself is very small, which would explain the relatively small battery.

This has 2A charging, which means it will charge faster than most vapes – although 2A is becoming the standard now. Regardless, this is definitely something you want in an internal battery vape.

The construction of the vape is nice. I like the finish, and the color schemes are a lot nicer than the one’s on the original Kromas, at least in my opinion. The color options are white, black, red, blue, and green. They all have a textured black area that gives a nice grip to the device.

The screen is very basic. There are three buttons for navigating the menu, the fire button, an up button, and a down button. This has more button rattle than I’d like to see, but it isn’t so bad that I’d say you should avoid buying it. If you’ve been using big box mods with 510 carts it may be time to look for something smaller, most vapers tend to start with Linx Hermes for their oil because it is much more compact than a mod.

The tank is rather ordinary. It does fill from the top, but you have to unscrew the top to access the fill ports. The airflow is adjusted from the bottom. The coils it works with are made from kanthal, which I’m beginning to not like very much as time goes on. It seems like the cheap option as far as coil material goes, while others provide better performance and flavor.

Flavor Quality Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit

Flavor Quality

The vapor production of the Crios tank is good, though not great. It comes with two coils, both of which are a 0.65ohm Clapton-style coil made from kanthal and recommended for use between 35 and 65 watts.

I thought that the flavor was good when you stayed near the bottom of the recommended wattage range, but it dropped off quickly if you tried to use them at 50W or above. You’re obviously not going to be blowing huge clouds when vaping under 50W on this, but it gets the job done.

Power Flexibility Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit Vape

Power Flexibility

The power flexibility is good. The maximum wattage is only 75W, but that’s to be expected with a small device like this that can only hold one battery inside.

It also has temperature control modes for stainless steel, nickel, and titanium. The temperature range is 300F to 600F, and the minimum resistance in either mode is 0.1ohm. People who use 510 cartridges tend to prefer the Tronian Nutron.

As far as small mods go, this is about as good as you are going to get unless you want to play around with custom temperature and wattage curves.

Ease Of Use Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit

Ease of Use

The Innokin Kroma A works the same way pretty much every other mod out there works. The only slight difference is that while most manufacturers go with the five click turn on, Innokin only uses 3 for their vapes. You really shouldn’t have a harder or easier time using this than anything else out there.

The one slight problem I noticed is that the menu is a little confusing when you put on a new tank. Anytime you take a tank off, it will ask you if it is the same one when you put it back on.

This is true even if it is reading that the resistance of the coils is obviously different. I feel like it should only be asking if it’s the same if it is reading that the resistance didn’t change.

Portability Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit Vape

Portability

The portability of this is good. The dimensions of the mod itself are only 2-11/16″ x 1-3/4″ x 15/16″. Adding the tank puts an additional 1-13/16″ on to the height, meaning that the entire setup is only 4-½” tall.

This is small enough to comfortably carry in a pocket, and even though the airflow is located on the bottom of the tank, I didn’t experience any leaking. Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit

Overall Experience Of Innokin Kroma A Starter Kit

Overall Experience

The Innokin Kroma A is a good mod, although it’s not particularly exciting.

There’s nothing about it that makes it better than anything else out there. It’s just a solid option across the board if you’re just looking for a relatively portable mod with a built-in battery. The 2000mAh capacity isn’t all that much, but that’s a tradeoff you have to make to get the tiny size.

The 75W max power is about as much as you’ll find from any mod of this size. To get more, you typically have to add more batteries. And as I’ve pointed out, 75W is more than enough for your average person.

If these are the specs you are looking for, there is no reason I see to avoid this mod. Just know that there are a lot of others out there just like it, and look around to see what design and colors you like the best. Go with this one if you like the ease of an internal battery, or opt for something with a removable 18650 if you’d like a convenient way to extend the battery life (buy an extra).

Those who are looking for a bit more power check out the SMOK G150. And for those who want a more portable vape that offers wattage control, we highly recommend the Vaporesso Target Mini.
