Over the last week we have dealt with sub-Saharan weather conditions right here in Toronto. People are fleeing to the cottage, lake or campgrounds to escape the urban heat. Therefore many connoisseurs are looking for an ultra-portable but affordable unit.
Two devices that really fit the bill are the MFLB and the VaporGenie Vaporizer. Let’s compare the two.
This gadget is a small battery powered vaporizer that is designed for people who are looking for a small and portable unit. The device is very is easy to use and for its size produces surprisingly good vapor. The way the unit works is by pushing an AA battery into the unit to start the heating mechanism. The battery gets pushed into the unit for 6-11 seconds in order for vapor to develop, which is then drawn from a glass drawing stem. Although the mechanism is very easy, it does take a little playing around for one to completely figure out how long to hold in the battery in order to get your desired vapor thickness. Overall, the unit is a great little gadget, ideal for people on the go or for your weekend road-trip.
This unit on the other hand is one of the only vapor pipes that exist on the market. It uses no butane and no batteries. All you need is a regular lighter, which make this unit as portable as you can possibly get. The mechanism is very easy. All you do is load your favorite botanical into the heating chamber, ignite a lighter over the heating chamber and start to slowly inhale. By inhaling you will draw hot air from the lighter into the heating chamber in order to start the vaporization process. The process works surprisingly well as we were able to produce some nice thick vapor.
All in all both vaporizers are great for people on a budget. The MFLB comes in at CAD119,- while the Genie comes in at CAD59,-. The vapor quality produced by the MFLB is superior, especially in terms of flavor. However, with the vapor pipe you never have to worry about any batteries, since you only need to get a regular lighter to make it work.
If you value speed and portability, the Launch Box might be the better choice, if you are looking for a fun camping gadget or a fun little toy to complement your existing vaporizer the VapourGenie will definitely make you happy!
