Ooze Duplex Dual Extract Vaporizer Review – Duality
The Duplex from Oozelife is nothing special to look at and with a price of only $59 it doesnt really have to be. As the name implies, the Ooze Duplex is a dual-use vaporizer for both oils and waxes but how much can this device pull off for under one-hundred bucks? Well, we had the chance to take a look at this budget vape from the ever-popular manufacturer. And if this is your first cannabis extracts vaporizer be sure to check out our Cannabis Extracts Pen Buyers Guide for helpful info and tips.
Review: Ooze Duplex
How it Works
Unlike the Duplexes many more complicated siblings, this handheld is extremely simple to use. In the box, you will get a battery pack and two tanks.
The first is for oils, its a ceramic tank that closes off completely with a cap allowing the vaporizer to be conveniently carried around. The other is a prehistoric dual-quartz tank for waxes.
Now, Im no fan of dual-quartz in vaporizers – definitely not in 2018. I think they should have been left behind when newer technologies came about but lets not forget that this is a budget vape – to implement more advanced technology would raise the price.
Its as simple as filling the tanks and turning the device on. The vaporizer uses a hold-to-vape system more akin to an e-cigarette, so make sure you are holding down to heat up the chamber.
Temperature Flexibility
There are a solid four voltage settings on the Ooze Duplex, quite impressive for such a small portable.
The temperatures are 3.4V, 3.6V, 3.8V and 4.0V. Set the temperature before vaping.
Lower voltage will produce smoother vapor but less visible vapor, while higher voltage will provide bigger clouds. Take a look at the Source Orb 4 for wider temperature variation.
Vapor Quality
As we mentioned earlier, the dual-quartz coils are not majorly impressive but they definitely do the job very well.
For the price, you get big knockout clouds even on the lower levels with a deliciously rich taste. You could try the Utillian 5 (V3) for a good quality series of sessions.
A straight 8/10 for getting the job done, Oozelife.
Manufacturing Quality
Well, Ill try to keep this section short and sweet but this is where the Ooze Duplex vaporizer really shines. I had to keep reminding myself that this device only costs sixty bucks because for that price you get a super convenient vape. It seems like Oozelife has thought of everything.
To begin, the vape comes in black by default but you can also get it in a cool faux-gold which really stands out. The Ooze Duplex is small, in fact, its super dinky and can be easily palmed. In the hand, it feels cool and metallic although most of it is plastic and its weight is nothing to write home about.
Multicolored lights inform you of the current-voltage, making the already aesthetically pleasing device even more good looking. Aside from that, there is a metal cover that attaches itself to the controls magnetically, covering them easily. The extra cool part is that you can hold down the power through the cover so when youre on the go theres no need to remove it. If you’re looking for something with more both cannabis extracts and herbs, then check out the Focus V Tourist.
The tanks that come with the unit are sturdy and slide effortlessly into the battery, clicking into place with magnets which – if you are a long time vaporizer user – you will appreciate very much. The battery isnt extraordinary, in fact, it follows the rule of most vaporizers – short but sweet.
Battery Life
The battery isnt extraordinary, in fact, it follows the rule of most vaporizers – short but sweet.
Youre looking at five full sessions on medium heat and of course, your battery will die sooner or later depending on whether you use maximum or minimum voltage respectively. We would recommend you to have a glance at the Puffco Peak with its great battery life.
Portability
This is another area where the Ooze Duplex Vaporizer stands out. This is a small and sleek device that fits comfortably in the palm of even the most slender hands.
I have particularly large hands and could conceal this little thing in my palm with ease. Add to that the low-key mouthpieces that sheepishly poke their heads out allowing for stealthy hits and you have a great everyday vaporizer. If you’re looking for some portable and looks like a cigar, you can have ya look at the Linx Ember.
Ease of Use
Most vaporizers are fairly self-explanatory but this surpasses all those I have seen before. You will not need to open a manual for this device as there are only three pieces in the box and of those, you only need two. Similar to this, we have the Yocan Evolve Plus, with its one-button feature for bigger cloud experiences!
Everything just works with this tiny but powerful unit.
Overall Experience
Oozelife has created a very user-friendly vaporizer for well under a hundred bucks.
The Ooze Duplex is a very stylish and cute device designed for those who want a great all-rounder but perhaps have their reservations about shelling out hundreds for a more pricey alternative.
The fact you can use both oils and waxes with the included tanks makes it quite versatile and suitable for those who might just have dipped their toes into the world of vapables.
If you are looking for a starter unit that specializes in only waxes we suggest checking out the and if you are interested in something small for e-liquid be sure to check out the Kandypens Rubi.
