How it Works

The Atmos Astra 2 has a few instructions that ought to be followed to get it ready and going.

To reveal the ceramic chamber, push the tip of the mouthpiece forward. Load your cannabis and replace the mouthpiece.

The Atmos Astra 2 has 3 buttons, the power button and the two remaining buttons for upward and downward control of temperature respectively. Press the power button 5 times rapidly to turn on the vaporizer. A vibration will be felt to indicate its on and the OLED screen will display.

Regulate the temperature of the vaporizer using the temperature buttons. Once the temperature is optimized press the power button once to commence heating. The OLED screen will display the word “heat” to show heating is taking place. The vaporizer will heat to the selected temperature and the word “warm” will display on the OLED screen. The user is now set to enjoy the vape from the Atmos Astra 2 vaporizer.

Temperature Flexibility

The Atmos Astra 2 temperature levels range between 300?- 435?. This enables the user to have a wide range of temperatures to use in their preference.

We would advise the Atmos Astra 2 users to experiment with these temperature levels to find their suitable temperature for the vaporizer, the same thing you would do for any other device that has precise temperature control like the Utillian 620.

However, we will note using the device over 420? resulted in harsh draws.

Vapor Quality

The Atmos Astras vapor quality is just okay, it reminds us a lot of the vapor quality we achieved from a unit like the G-Pen Elite.

The plastic mouthpiece leaves a lot to be desired, with vapor being hot on the lips and back of the throat.

The glass mouthpiece offered a much more pleasant experience but vapor quality is still quite average.

Don’t get us wrong, the unit gets the job done at producing vapor, but don’t expect it to be anything special.

Manufacturing Quality

Generally, Atmos products are very well designed to give its users quality products for long-term usage. The latest product from Atmos, Atmos Astra 2 is a unique product and has advanced features like the Davinci IQC that make it distinct from other Atmos products.

The vaporizer was smartly designed with a size of 4.05 x 1.8 x 0.95 inches. Not only does the vaporizer has advanced features but it also made of an anodized stainless steel with rubber shoulder grips hence it is scratch resistant.

Not forgetting after buying the product it comes in handy with a cleaning brush and a packing tool which is very efficient to the users after using the device.

The Atmos Astra 2 battery is a 2200 mAh Li-ion. In our tests, we found the battery lasted roughly an hour of continuous use. This is pretty average for vaporizers nowadays and should be sufficient enough to last you for about 4 – 5 sessions.

However, if the device is used once a day, it can go for several days without needing a re-charge.

Users who are constantly moving throughout the day and looking for units that have high battery life usually prefer devices like the Arizer Solo 2.

Portability

As described earlier, the vaporizer’s size is small hence it can comfortably fit in the user’s pocket and travel with the vaporizer. The glass mouthpiece can be ejected while pocketing the device to prevent it from cracking or breaking completely. Many users tend to prefer devices like the Zeus Arc GTS Hub that is more portable and smaller in size.

Ease of Use

The Atmos Astra 2 is a very easy device for any user regardless if they are new similar to using the Utillian 722.

It is not complex to operate and has straightforward instructions. The 3 buttons on the surface of the device are clearly drawn to indicate their functions.

Having followed the instructions any user can load cannabis, turn on the device, regulate the temperature and enjoy the vape.

Discreetness

The device is quite small, however, while in public it can be noticed. It is quite hard for someone to tell what you are holding due to its unique design. The public will just assume the device as it does not look suspicious to be a vaporizer just like the LITL1.

Moreover, the device can just comfortably fit the pocket, and no one could notice what it is. As with the odor, the flavour smell is very helpful since it makes it hard for the public to notice the smell.

Overall the Atmos Astra 2 is just okay, there is nothing about it to set it apart from the competition. We still don’t love the plastic mouthpiece and the glass mouthpiece just feels awkward to use. We do not love the amount of plastic that went into the build and feel like overall the device feels cheap.

We did achieve some decent vapor with the device but it really was nothing special compared to anything else in the price point. If this is your first vaporizer we would suggest saving some money and getting the Utillian 420 or if you are looking to spend a bit more check out the Zeus Arc GTS Hub.
