About Me

Hi there everyone. My name is Karen, 42 , and I live in a small town in Nova Scotia. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, I’ve been a pretty positive person my whole life so I just had to accept cancer as one of those unfortunate bumps in the road that life gives you, despite how awful I felt. The cancer itself wasn’t as terrible as the chemotherapy I had to go through, though. At that time I had terrible nausea and vomiting, lost a substantial amount of weight and was feeling pretty down and out – not like me at all. One day my younger brother came over to cheer me up and we ended up talking about different options to handle the chemo. He had been a regular smoker growing up, and still is, so suggested a vaporizer to maybe help the side effects. I’d never heard of one but at this point in my treatment I was pretty desperate to get back to some normalcy. I was eager to feel better so we searched some options and decided on this vaporizer called the V-Tower. It looked nice but simple, was made in Canada and gave me hope to boot. I’ve now been using it for just over a 6 months and it’s really been a life changer. Here is my personal experience.

First Impressions

V Tower Vaporizer Package

So, my brother popped over when the unit was delivered so we could assemble it together. I was pretty nervous to try this on my own. He had done a fair bit of research and we had watched the instruction video together while it was in the post, which was really helpful in explaining all the parts and how to work it step by step. It was smaller than I was expecting but well-built and came very tightly packed so nothing was broken. So, I set it up on my nightstand and plugged it in. It’s a silver cone shape on a black raised base – kind of futuristic looking but I didn’t mind, in fact it’s kind of nifty, especially with the digital display and all. I was overwhelmed by the whole ordeal at first, but it’s really easy to operate as there’s only 4 buttons to deal with. After I burned off the manufacturer oils, like it was recommend to do so in the video, I took the grinded botanicals and heated them in the glass cyclone bowl on the screen which separated the hating element on the vaporizer from my stuff. I assembled the whip and fit it on the cyclone bowl. I shook off my nerves and started to take a few inhales. When I exhaled there was a really big amount of vapor that came out and I was surprised how much because I could barely notice it in my throat. The unit’s accessories were really high quality too and came with everything I needed. I even used the potpourri dish right after to freshen up the room! Off the bat I was happy with the choice and the more I used it the more comfortable I became.

The V Tower is really good quality. I was surprised after using it a few times, that it was so reasonably priced. I work part time as a freelance artist and don’t have a ton of disposable income, so the low cost compared to the results and quality was definitely a nice surprise. The unit is also really fast to get going. Every time I need to vaporize it’s less than 5 minutes from loading the bowl to inhaling at 195 degrees, which is great because as a mom of 2 young ones too I don’t have time to waste. I also really, really like how little botanical I need with this unit. I’m new to this whole vaporizing thing but my brother said he was amazed at how little I used. This is pretty great because I’m saving money on my medicine. I also like keeping things clean, so I like that I only need to soak the glass parts once in a while to clean out the buildup, which is great. The vapor is also really controllable. At the beginning I had to play around to find the best temperature setting  for me, but I found 195 degrees to be perfect since I like thinner vapor. My brother’s another story, he cranks it all the way up to 260 for what I can only imagine to be incredibly thick vapour.  The fact that there is basically no smell after vaporizing is also pretty amazing because I was defiantly worried my kids would start asking questions if the house reeked, but nope! So, I really like how convenient this unit is and that it’s ready when I am. It is really high quality, very well priced and very efficient.

The unit uses nice glass pieces and it makes sense that because of this the vapour quality is purer, but they get really hot and easily break.  The elbow and cyclone pieces got stuck together a few times when I was trying to pull them apart, so I accidentally broke the cyclone bowl in two. So, I was virtually out of a vaporizer until my new order for spare bowls come in, which made it a really a bad few days. The display screen is also a bit small for my eyes but with glasses on it’s fine to read as its quite bright. Also, the hat shaped screen in the elbow adaptor likes to get clogged with small botanical bits and I have to clean that more often than I’d like to make sure I get good airflow.

Tips & Tricks

Like I said, I don’t know a lot about vaporizing but I have figured out a few tricks that make the whole V Tower experience hassle-free. I really recommend ordering either an extra cyclone bowl or a tuff bowl with your unit. Now I have 3 spare tuff bowl’s, so I’m prepared for anything! I really didn’t think I will break another, but it’s always good to have backups. I think that if you get this unit, you should also make sure to clean the screens before use. If they do clog up you have to inhale extra hard to move the vapor past the buildup, so it’s easier just to ensure that they are clean from the start. I also found it’s actually a really good idea to stir the botanicals mid-session to make sure you are getting it all vaporized the same. Another tip I have up my sleeve is to wait a few seconds after your first few draws. This unit doesn’t have a fan so to get the vapor to come out you need your lung power to pull it all the way through the tube, which can take a few draws. Last but not least buy the cleaning kit. It’s way better than using alcohol and smells really nice too. With that kit I also got these bendable pipe cleaners, which really do the trick when cleaning that finicky elbow adaptor. Also look for their V Tower Tutorial video on youtube if you want a visual demonstration. It’s a pretty straightforward setup, but the guy in the video gives you some nice tricks.
All in all, this entire unit and experience is a 10/10 in my opinion. My quality of life has improved immensely while using the V Tower and the amount I paid was worth every penny. It’s clean, simple, nice looking, and does the job. My family and kids have definitely noticed a difference in me, I’ve been feeling a lot better through the chemo and I would surely recommend this course of action to anyone. Big thanks to TorontoV for the fast shipping, helpful staff and helpful videos.
