Vape Pen Tutorial

Vape pens have been growing in popularity recently and as more and more people find that they love the convenience of a pen-sized vaporizer, more and more units will flood the market. Now that the Zeus Thunder has been released, we here at TorontoV thought it would be a good idea to help educate all the newcomers on how to use a vape pen!

How to Guide: Pen Vapes

Vape Pen Tutorial

Tank Selection & Check

Not every pen vape can do it all. Some can only do waxes or oils right out of the box like the G-Pen, but if you’ve purchased something like the Zeus Thunder, you’ll be covered for wax, oil and dry botanical. With all those options it might be hard, but you’ll still have to pick which tank you’ll want to use for your session. Decide what tank you want to put onto your battery and then move on to the next step. Sometimes after a few uses, parts of the tank can become loose. Even if it’s fresh out of the box, it’s a good idea to make sure all of the connections are secure and, cores and coils are screwed on tightly. Take a second to make sure the coil is properly screwed in and the core isn’t loose. This will save you time once you’re ready to use it.

Tank Loading

Loading Your TankNow that you know what tank you want and you’ve checked to make sure the connections are secure, you can get going with loading your tank! If you’re using dry botanical, make sure your botanical is finely ground before you load it. If you’re using wax make sure you don’t touch the coil with your tool when putting the wax into the tank as it could end up damaging the coil. When loading oils make sure you don’t squeeze the oil down the middle hole and be sure not to overfill the tank unless you want a mouth full of liquid oil. In some cases, loading your tank while it’s off the battery is fine, but if you’re loading the Z-Oil tank or Z-Wax tank, make sure your tank is on the battery while you load it. Once it’s loaded, you can take the tank off to perform the next step.

Battery Charging & Unlocking

This might seem like common sense, but sometimes your excitement to use your brand new unit is stronger than common sense. You’ll be able to use it in due time, and your experience will be uninterrupted if you make sure the battery is at full charge! How long this takes will vary depending on what unit you’re using, but it usually isn’t more than a few hours, so sit back and relax or take care of the previous steps while it charges up so that you and your battery are equally ready for the good times to come! Sometimes this is as simple as plugging it in to the battery, but for the most part, tanks and batteries have a standard 510 threading and it’s still a simple matter of screwing it on. Most units will have some sort of safety lock that can be engaged to keep it from activating while it’s in your pocket. To engage/disengage the lock you usually have to press the power button a certain number of times. With the Thunder, that number is 5. Once your battery is unlocked, you’re ready to enjoy!

Note of Caution

Power Button CautionIt is very important to not abuse the power button. In other words, there is an auto shut-off with most pen vapes, to protect your battery and if you keep turning it on after it’s auto shut-off, you’ll destroy your unit. So, enjoy your pen vape at a reasonable pace. For example, with the ZEUS Thunder there is a 10-second auto shut-off. If you are taking a draw from the Thunder for the full 10-seconds, it is recommended that you give your pen at least a 10-20second break before re-engaging. If you engage your vape pen before that, know that you will depreciate your battery much quicker.
Make sure you only hold the power button down for a few seconds for each draw. It’s a pretty easy process, but following this every time you use your vape pen will ensure that your unit has a long and prosperous life!

  1. Easy to load. Easy to clean and no leakage. Oh and replacement tanks shouldn’t cost the amount of a cheap e-cig.

Matcha Man (for thee 4th attempt….don’t get why my posts are showing up after hours)

  3. My apologies for the multiple answers. They just didn’t show up; not even after more than 12 hours, so I thought I was doing something wrong. Even tried another browser; just sayin’, so y’all don’t think I was trying to stack the odds in my favour. Though it would be a dumb way to do it, since they are almost all the same, verbatim.
