Vaporesso fans will have another great reason to celebrate with the release of another potentially great kit. The Vaporesso Switcher kit comes bundled with their fabled NRG tank and fires up to a maximum power output of 220 watts with the help of two 18650 batteries (sold separately). Utilizing the same great OMNI board to make sure you get the most accurate vaping experience possible, the Vaporesso Switcher also supports swappable exterior plates for on-the-fly customization.
Considering how Vaporesso has packed every conceivable feature into this 220-watt device, it’s definitely worth a look, especially for the more vape-savvy users out there. Be sure to check the vape buyer’s guides for important information to take into consideration before making your purchase.
Review: Vaporesso Switcher
One of the Vaporesso Switcher’s strongest points is the bundled NRG tank that supports NRG coils. Not only do they output lots of flavor and vapor, but they’re also cross-compatible with most Smok coils (although I do find Vaporesso coils to be of slightly better quality overall). The coils bundled with the kit are the GT8 and GT4 coil heads.
The GT8 is a quad coil design meant for maximum vapor production with a low resistance of 0.15 ohms, so expect battery and e-liquid consumption to be higher in comparison to when using the GT4 which is a dual coil design rated at 0.15 ohms but with a bigger emphasis on flavor and just a tad less on vapor production.
The NRG tank has the benefit of having an extremely smooth airflow design thanks to the dual slot bottom airflow ring which is highly adjustable, letting you dial down the airflow to a restricted pull or opening it up all the way for a relaxed, open, and airy vape.
With the inclusion of Vaporesso’s signature OMNI board, their mods are now as versatile and powerful as ever. Now at version 2.6, the chip supports a slightly revised interface which makes use of on-screen buttons for even easier menu navigation.
The OMNI board also promises fast, convenient, and most importantly safe/balanced onboard charging of the dual 18650 batteries, a feature only seen in more expensive devices such as DNA or YiHi mods.
Naturally, the Vaporesso Switcher supports all the possible vaping modes such as variable wattage, temperature control, and customizable TCR settings. The pre-heat function is also standard as well as support for all the temperature control coils such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel.
Power and temperature settings feel very accurate, so when you set the mod to vape at 50 watts, you’ll know that you’re going to be vaping at 50 watts, not 55 or 45.
Ease of Use
While the vast plethora of options does give the Vaporesso Switcher a small learning curve when learning the ins and outs of the kit, operating the mod in standard variable wattage mode is far from difficult.
The 0.96 inch OLED display plays no small part in this thanks to its clear crisp display which effectively conveys all relevant information to you.
The on-screen graphical keys are also a big factor when it comes to the overall easier navigation of the relatively complex menu system that lets you customize practically every aspect of the mod’s functionality and interface.
All of these give you the ease and comfort of using a basic starter kit, but with all the freedom and possibilities of a more advanced device.
The dual 18650 batteries guarantee that the mod will give you at least a full days worth of vaping, regardless of how much you chain vape. The OMNI board also does a great job of doing balanced charging via the micro USB port, allowing for safer recharging sessions even when an external charger isn’t available (although I will always recommend using an external charger as the safest option)
