Though Pulsar<\/a> is best known for its APX vaporizers<\/a>, the company recently released a newly-designed dry herb vaporizer that has been named one of the best vaporizers under $100 of 2017. Today we are taking a closer look at the Pulsar Flow Dry Herb Vaporizer. It features a sleek, rounded design, but its unique interior build is what really sets it apart from the competition.<\/p>\n

How it Works<\/h2>\n

To start, easily remove the magnetic lid to find the quartz-lined chamber. Fill the chamber at least halfway full of herb for the best results, and use the included packing tool to condense your flower. Don\u2019t pack it too tight, as airflow is especially important in the Flow\u2019s design.<\/p>\n

Press the power button on the side of your vaporizer five times to turn the vaporizer on. Hold the button for three seconds to adjust it to any of the five heat settings, indicated by LED lights next to the button. Once the light turns from red to green, the Flow is heated you can use your vaporizer by inhaling from the silicone mouthpiece.<\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h2>\n

The Pulsar Flow comes with five varying temperature settings, and it takes about 40 seconds to completely heat up. Beginning at 180C, each setting increases by 10 degrees, with the highest setting being 220C.<\/p>\n

The Flow\u2019s wide range of temperature settings makes it easy to customize your vaporizing experience. It\u2019s easy to switch through the different options and see what works best for you. However, users that prefer more control over the heat settings usually prefer units with precise temperature control like the Firefly 2+<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Vapor Quality<\/h2>\n

Unlike other vaporizers with similar rounded designs, like the G-Pen Elite<\/a>, the Pulsar Flow features a quartz-lined chamber that is set at the opposite end of the vaporizer from the mouthpiece. With this layout, the vapor has plenty of time to cool as it travels through the vaporizer.<\/p>\n

For best results we recommend drying your herbs first in a wooden herb box<\/a>, this will remove the moisture from your plants allowing the vaporization process to begin more quickly.<\/p>\n

The unique embossed air-flow design allows for a clean, tasty hit that doesn\u2019t burn your lungs. A chamber that\u2019s quartz-lined also adds to the vapor quality, allowing the herb to be evenly extracted. Our flower turned into a beautiful golden brown color, with no charring, black spots, or other indications of anything burning.<\/p>\n

Overall, we couldn\u2019t ask for better vapor quality from such a fairly priced vaporizer. Because the chamber is made from a neutral material, the flavor of our flower isn\u2019t affected whatsoever.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

Every aspect of the Pulsar Flow seems to be ergonomically designed, with a modern elegance in both interior and exterior details\u00a0like the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>.\u00a0It comes in multiple color options, including solid black, textured carbon fiber, and wood grain. No matter your style, you are sure to find a Flow you love.<\/p>\n

This product is five inches long, making it the perfect size to slip into your pocket. Though it\u2019s small, the Flow\u2019s interior is made of metal, giving it some sturdy weight when you hold it. Ergonomics definitely come into play when the device is in your hand — with one flat side and the other convex, it fits perfectly in your palm and feels natural to use.<\/p>\n

Though we struggled to remove the mouthpiece for the first time, it became easy to take on and off once we got the hang of it. The magnetic lid feels secure and sturdy, and it\u2019s easy to detach when loading the chamber inside.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s really not much to the vaporizer\u2019s exterior. Besides a micro-USB charging port, five LED lights, and one power button, the Flow only features a small Pulsar logo near the bottom.<\/p>\n

\"Pulsar<\/p>\n

The interior of the Flow is definitely the most flashy, though the vaporizer overall boasts a clean minimalist design. The vapor-cooling airflow pattern is actually made of embossed Pulsar logos, but it looks interestingly cryptic upon the first investigation.<\/p>\n

The quartz-lined chamber is a great size, holding 0.25 – 0.5 grams of flower at a time.<\/p>\n

\"PulsarBattery Life<\/h3>\n

We can\u2019t complain about the Flow\u2019s battery life, either. It takes about 90 minutes to reach a full charge, with a full battery lasting just over an hour of continuous use. Your mileage may vary depending on your temperature settings and pull strength.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also convenient that the vaporizer charges with commonly used micro-USB cables. A USB cable comes included in the box, but replacement cables are cheap and easy to find.<\/p>\n

Users looking for units with higher battery life usually tend to prefer devices like the Solo 2<\/a> that has 3 hours of battery – the longest among the vaporizers.<\/p>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

Like we already mentioned, the Flow\u2019s 5 inch build makes it perfect to carry around with you everywhere. Though it\u2019s a bit longer than the Utillitan 420, its thinner design makes it just as easy to transport. Its decent battery life ensures it will last you all day, with an estimated 10 to 20 sessions from each charge.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

Unlike the Davinci IQC<\/a>, which can be a bit hard to use for the newbies, the Pulsar Flow is recommended for beginner vaporizers because of its simple operation. With a single button and 5 small LED lights, it is not hard to figure out how to operate this product.<\/p>\n

Pulsar makes both using and cleaning the vaporizer extremely easy with their included accessory kit. A packing tool makes loading the chamber a simple task, and an included cleaning brush, as well as alcohol wipes, are a nice bonus for keeping your Flow like new. And of course, the box comes with a detailed instruction manual.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Discreetness<\/h3>\n

One great thing about the Flow is that it doesn\u2019t look like your typical vape pen. Its sleek, curved build is tasteful, and we might even say classy. The textured carbon fiber or wood grain models are especially sophisticated, making us more confident using it in public, unlike the Mighty<\/a> which is bulky and easy to be caught by prying eyes.<\/p>\n

\"PulsarOverall Experience<\/h3>\n

Overall the Pulsar Flow is a pretty decent introductory herb vaporizer capable of delivering some tasty vapor. We hope in the future to maybe see a glass mouthpiece introduced for pure flavor and perfects a display of some sort. But for the price you really can’t go wrong.<\/p>\n
