It\u2019s been a long time coming but it\u2019s finally here; the Mighty+<\/a> has arrived at our doorstep and we\u2019ve got our mittens on it to test it out. The Mighty+ presents itself with a few upgrades such as a USB Type C charging port along with a few other changes that serve to elevate the entire vaping experience compared to the old Mighty. But enough preamble, let’s start by taking a closer look at this long awaited refresh, put it through its paces, and see if it’s worth your hard-earned money. Read on down below!<\/span><\/p>\n

While we hoped that they fix the mightys original design drawback<\/a>, that one they left unfortunately. Below we will show you exactly what it means to you, and what alternative routes you can consider.<\/p>\n

How it Works<\/h2>\n

Overall not much, if anything at all has changed in the Mighty+ when comparing it to its predecessor. It\u2019s still a very straightforward device to use that most beginners shouldn\u2019t face any issues in getting it up and running. <\/span><\/p>\n

Just like the original Mighty, the Mighty+ prefers medium to finely ground herb for optimal, full, and efficient extraction of your chosen dry herb. Holding the power button down for a couple of seconds cycles the power on and we still get the familiar – and + buttons for adjusting the precise temperature control that the Mighty+ offers.<\/span><\/p>\n

One minor but very welcome change is the faster heat up time which is an upgrade.<\/span> While the old Mighty was already decently quick with an average of 90 seconds to get up to speed, the Mighty+\u00a0 shaves off a good third off of that with its significantly better 60-second heat up. It\u2019s a small quality of life upgrade that should benefit particularly impatient users, others also benefit from this like regular smokers who find it hard to switch to vaporizers due to the longer setup time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"MIGHTY+<\/a><\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h2>\n

Given how effective the original Mighty already was when it came to full and proper dry herb extraction, there\u2019s little reason to make any changes with the Mighty+ being a convection style vape, and such is indeed the case. If you’re not sure about the differences between convection and conduction, you can read our article about that here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mighty+ still offers the same wide temperature range of 40-210\u00b0C, which at the time of its release was quite honestly more than enough for any\u00a0dry herb vaporizer<\/a>. The precise temperature control is aided by the simple yet functional digital display that is devoid of any clutter that would make it harder for the uninitiated to figure out how to use. Due to the constant upgrades in portable vaporizers newer devices like the\u00a0Airvape Legacy pro<\/a>\u00a0offer wider temperature ranges with higher overall max temperatures.<\/p>\n

Another addition though to the feature-set of the Mighty+ is the so-called Superbooster which allows for an instant 15\u00b0C bump up to your current vaping temperature. Accessed by a simple triple click on the power button, we didn\u2019t see much of a benefit with this feature aside from slightly improved wax sessions which we\u2019ll discuss in more detail down below.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"MIGHTY+<\/a><\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h2>\n

Despite the updating of the heating chamber with a ceramic coating, we honestly can’t tell much of a difference in terms of overall vapor quality between the Mighty+ and its predecessor. <\/span><\/p>\n

While that\u2019s not necessarily a bad thing, we were kind of hoping for more in this department seeing as there are already existing vaporizers such as the <\/span>Zeus Arc GT Hub<\/span><\/a> that do a slightly better job at fully extracting dry herb.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a slight improvement however when vaporizing with extracts and concentrates as the Mighty+ ramps up a bit quicker in temperature, therefore doing a slightly better job compared to its predecessor when vaporizing wax.<\/span><\/p>\n

One matter that we didn’t really think about much till Tools420, another major vaporizer reviewer<\/a> mentioned it, is the extraction efficiency. The mighty+ is pretty awesome at flavorful extraction, but the top temperature is relatively low. That results in herbs not being fully extracted. So make sure you are ok with a little higher wastage\/cost, if you choose to go with the mighty plus.<\/div><\/div><\/span>

\"MIGHTY+<\/a><\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h2>\n

The Mighty+ incorporates some small changes in its design, although nothing too drastic to change the overall feel and look of the device when comparing it to the original Mighty. It still comes with a higher price tag than the Mighty.<\/span><\/p>\n

The corrugated fin exterior on the Mighty+ feels more spaced out which leads to a slightly more ergonomic feel when holding it in hand. The surface area on the Mighty+ that\u2019s in contact with your hand is also lessened as a result and we feel this results in a less warmer hand feel as this allows the heat generated by the device to more efficiently dissipate compared to the older Mighty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Storz & Bickel has claimed that the surface finish of the Mighty+ is also more scratch-resistant.\u00a0<\/span>Another small change is the addition of fins at the bottom of the Mighty+ which actually does help in stabilizing the vaporizer when placing it on top of a flat surface. <\/span>These QOL improvements make the Mighty+ come with a higher price tag than the Mighty as previously mentioned. Considering vaporizers already help save money<\/a>, I believe the QOL updates are worth the price tag.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"MIGHTY<\/a><\/p>\n

\"MIGHTY+<\/a><\/p>\n

Battery Life<\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve noted a slight bump up in battery life with the Mighty+ although we feel that isn’t due to a battery upgrade but can be instead attributed to the smaller heating block which is also responsible for the faster heat up time. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s honestly not much of a change from the most recent edition of the original Mighty which already touted pretty good longevity making the Mighty+ a solid choice for longer outdoor excursions.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the battery, unfortunately, remains non-user replaceable, the newer Mighty+\u00a0 now comes with the benefit of using a USB Type C port to charge up its internal battery.<\/span><\/p>\n

This makes it easier to keep the battery topped up even when on the go as it eliminates the need to bring along the bulky proprietary charger that was required to charge the original Mighty.<\/span> <\/div><\/div>

\"MIGHTY+<\/a><\/p>\n

Portability<\/h2>\n

Aside from the convenience of not having to bring a standalone charger along, the Mighty+ also charges a bit faster than its predecessor with a bumped up charge rate of 45 watts (given that your USB power supply can handle it). <\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>his allows the Mighty+ to charge up to 80% battery life in 45 minutes resulting in less downtime in between charging cycles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The increased stability of the Mighty+ also makes it easier to load with your preferred material of choice as the device can just simply sit on a table while you load it up. <\/span><\/p>\n

The use of dosing capsules is still highly recommended though as this eliminates the need of handling dry herb on the go which can get messy pretty quick if you’re not careful.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mighty+ is very large and bulky, however, and will likely have issues fitting into most pockets. Those who use their pockets as the main mode of transporting their vapes might want to consider taking a look at the <\/span>Utillian 722<\/span><\/a> which performs similarly albeit with a much smaller and more pocketable form factor.<\/span> <\/div><\/div>

Ease of Use<\/h2>\n

Considering how The original Mighty was designed to cater to medicinal users that might be suffering from a lack of motor skills or dexterity,\u00a0 it’s one of the easier vaporizers to use, and nothing about that changes with the new Mighty+. <\/span><\/p>\n

No special draw technique, no precision grinding and careful packing of herbs, just fire it up and forget. In addition to this, the ceramic coating used in the heating chamber of the Mighty+ makes it a bit easier to clean compared to the original Mighty which always seemed very attached to its own personal build up of grime. <\/span><\/div><\/div>

<\/span><\/p>\n

\"MIGHTy+<\/a><\/p>\n

Discreetness<\/h2>\n

On the outside, nothing much has changed between the original Mighty and the new Mighty+ so unfortunately, that means that the newer model is every bit as obtrusive as its predecessor. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s definitely not going to fly under the radar when used in public as its relatively large form factor, outlandish fin design, and very visible digital display make it stand out as much as a Metallica fan in an Ariana Grande concert.<\/span><\/div><\/div>

<\/a>Design Drawback<\/h2>\n

One thing we can mention about the mighty that really doesn’t help its long-term durability is that we can find a\u00a0 gap between the heating chamber and the chassis as shown in the image above. This space risks particle build-up over time and can really start to accumulate smell, not to mention it is almost impossible to clean. In the image, we can also see the Utillian 722<\/a> which in comparison does not have this issue and has a magnetic top as opposed to a screw-on top.<\/p>\n

Overall Experience<\/h2>\n

The Mighty+ brings some much needed upgrades to an already great vaporizer. While owners and fans of the original Mighty might be tempted to go out and buy this, the overall vaporizing experience between the two devices is so close that we truly had a hard time telling them apart based on vaporization quality alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0For those who like to travel with their Mighty though or to anyone who doesn’t own the original Mighty and is looking for a\u00a0 reliable dry herb vaporizer, the improved charging process wrought by the newly included USB C port on the Mighty+ just might be worth the price of entry although we feel only the most die-hard of Mighty fans will be picking this one up.<\/span><\/p>\n
