ZEUS Thunder Vs JAG Vaporizer
Both these units are pens, which presents a pretty big problem for them considering they both have only 1 temperature. Regardless, the Thunder does get 20% hotter than the JAG, which gives it a slight edge over the JAG in this category.
Both the JAG and the Thunder are made to handle extracts. That being said, the extra heat the Thunder is capable of outputting delivers quicker and more efficient vapor than the JAG. The Thunder is also capable of vaporizing oils as well, so although the JAG has pretty good vapor quality, the Thunder is still a step ahead.
The JAG uses a good amount of metal in the construction of the unit which makes for a sturdy and durable feel. The unit has a metal capsule for the chamber that screws off and the cap pulls off and has molded silicone that gives the vapor a direct path to your mouth and limits its ability to move freely in the cap. The power button is well made and feels solid and responsive.
The Thunder is sleek with metal used in most of the unit and a nice PVD coating over the entire unit to give it a luxurious feel. The coating also makes the unit more resistant to damage and scratches while the unit is being transported from one place to the next. The tanks are also made to be disposable which makes the unit a really cost-effective unit!
The JAG has a pretty good battery life, as you’d expect from a pen unit. With about 2 hours spend to charge it, you can enjoy countless sessions for a couple weeks without having to worry about recharging. Unfortunately for the JAG, the Thunder can last even longer. The bigger battery means you can vaporize for much longer without recharging your unit, making it great for long trips away from the house.
The Thunder is really easy to carry around and the PVD coating does a great job of protecting the unit from scratches and the like while it’s being transported from one place to the other, but the JAG still has an advantage. Because the JAG is smaller and thinner than the Thunder, it still manages to take this category.
Ease of Use
The JAG is a pretty easy unit to use thanks to the pull off cap and design of the metal capsule. That being said, loading can be a bit of a challenge. The shape of the chamber makes it difficult to get your extract into the chamber without touching the heating coil.
The Thunder by contrast is much easier to load, especially when you’re using the pro tanks. The shape of the tanks makes it easy to get your extracts into the chamber and reloading can be done by swapping out the empty core for a filled one if you need to.
The JAG is quite small, which means you can keep it in your hand without it showing. The problem is that if any of it isn’t covered by your hand, it will be easy to see because the unit is all white, which catches light and the eye pretty well. When it comes to discretion, the Thunder is still the better choice as the Z-Shield makes the unit look all black as well as protects the tank. It’s easy to use quickly for a stealthy session.
Winner: ZEUS Thunder!
The JAG put up some good numbers and performs pretty well, but it doesn’t have what it takes to topple the Thunder! Great job, ZEUS Arsenal!
