Slice Review – Grab a Slice

Updated: October 20, 2022

With the litany of practiced manufacturers in the vaping industry churning out one device after the other, its normal to be wary about potential newcomers into the business. While it is by all standards an infant when compared to the well-known giants such as Smok, Vaporesso, or Joyetech, we’re not the type to judge a book by its cover. The Slice is the first device to be released and it manages to tick off all the right boxes that make a great device. So let’s dive in and see why the Slice performs so nice.

Also, be sure to check the vape buyer’s guides for important information to take into consideration before making your purchase.

Review: Slice

Manufacturing Quality

One of the features of the Slice that caught our eye almost immediately was the carbon fiber panel used in no small amount on the front end of the device.

While most pod-style devices opt for plastic materials for their mods in order to cut down on the weight, the Slice manages to provide an attractive aesthetic and premium feel when held in hand, something which most pod-style devices easily forget to do.

It’s important to note though that not the entirety of the Slice is coated in carbon fiber, there is a metal frame that comes in a variety of colors and there’s still a pretty good portion of the device where glossy plastic is used.Jücee Slice flat display

This shouldn’t take away much from the actual build quality of the device which is great. Despite being mostly plastic, the Slice feels solid when held in hand and manages to avoid that dreaded toy-like feel that most budget pod-style devices suffer. If you are looking for a 510-thread battery for oil cartridges we suggest checking out the Tronian Nutron.

Flavour Quality

Long story short: The Slice is a superb performer when it comes to flavour and vapor production. Flavours don’t feel stale, metallic, or muted at all which are always hallmarks of a well-designed airflow and coil system.

Like most pod-style devices, the Slice uses an air-activated firing system which automatically vaporizes e-liquid as soon as you inhale from the mouthpiece, somewhat mimicking the feel of traditional methods. What we appreciate about the Slice though is how well the auto draw mechanism is implemented, the device fired almost instantly upon taking a puff and we’ve yet to experience a misfire during our testing period with the device. People who use 510 cartridges tend to prefer the Tronian Tautron.

Airflow is sufficiently restricted making the Slice a good option for those who are in the market for an easy to use the mouth-to-lung device.

Power Flexibility

In pure pod-style fashion, the Slice doesn’t offer much in terms of flexibility when it comes to adjusting the power output or vaping experience. The wattage output is respectable though, clocking in at around 8-9 watts.

The good news here is that the Slice uses 2ml refillable pods. This means that you’re free to use virtually any liquid you happen to have on hand.

Of course, given the low wattage output, nicotine salts are the de facto e-liquid of choice and the Slice shines when used in tandem with these delivering strong flavour production. The advantage of using refillable pods also lies within the availability of a wide range of strengths that you’re free to choose from.Jücee Slice upper part

Being a pod-style device, the Slice is naturally easy to set up and use, even for those who are unfamiliar or even complete beginners to the world of vaping. The device uses a micro USB port and includes a high quality charging cable for quick and easy battery top-ups even when on the go.

The pods are attached to the device via a magnetic assembly making it a breeze to remove and install, unlike other pod-style devices that opt for a clip-on mechanism which can make it problematic when it comes to removing pods which are pressure mounted onto the device.

The pods are easy to fill thanks to the large-sized fill ports which can accommodate a wide variety of e-liquid bottles. The only downside is that the pod has to be removed from the device since the fill port is located at the bottom of the pod. It’s not a huge deal though as the pods while attached firmly to the main body of the Slice, come off easily when given a good tug.

Portability

The Slice is by no means the tiniest pod-style device, but it definitely comes close. With dimensions measuring out to 80mm * 37.5mm * 10mm, the Slice holds a surprising amount of charge with its 370mAh battery easily outstripping the likes of the Juul.

The small form factor and streamlined shape of the device make it quick and easy to slip in and out of your pocket for a hassle-free vaping experience even when on the go.

The 370mAh battery manages to go the distance and easily lasts for up to a full day of vaping with moderate to slightly heavy use. And if you ever find the battery life to be lacking in any way, the Slice also supports pass-through charging meaning you don’t have to wait for the device to finish charging before vaping.

Overall Experience

We’re always happy to give glowing reviews of the devices we feature as this indicates a positive trend in overall device quality in the market. The Slice manages to easily squeeze itself into this highly populated and extremely competitive category of devices catering to beginners and the budget-minded, and while this isn’t really a big deal for most companies that release a new device almost every other week, the Slice stands out as a great benchmark for a budding new company that we hope to see more off in the coming months.
