Updated: January 3, 2024

The DaVinci Artiq is DaVinci’s new entry into the world of 510 thread batteries. Known for their dry herb vaporizers like the DaVinci IQ2 and Miqro, DaVinci is stepping into new territory with the Artiq. It’s their first crack at a 510 vape battery, lets see how well they did.

We’re here to tell you all about the DaVinci Artiq – the good, the bad, and everything in between. After reading this DaVinci Artiq review, you’ll know if it’s the right choice for your vaping needs.

Davinci Artiq Review

How Davinci Artiq WorksHow It Works

The DaVinci Artiq is an unusual but easy-to-use 510 thread battery. Here is the step-by-step guide on how to use the DaVinci Artiq:

Step 1: Remove the cover/outer shell by pulling down on the outer layer of the unit.
Step 2: Attach the magnetic adapter to your cartridge and snap it into place.
Step 3: Turn on the device by pressing the power button five times.
Step 4: Choose the desired temperature by clicking the power button 3 times
Step 5: Click the button twice to activate the preheat mode.
Step 5: Start inhaling from the mouthpiece. This unit has a draw-activation inhaling method, so there is no need to press any button while vaping.
Step 6: Hold the power button to engage the carb cap mode and inhale. This clears any leftover vapor and ensures the 510 cartridge is unclogged and ready for your next session.

When it comes to the somewhat unusual design of the Davinci Artiq, it still gets the job done and feels good in your hand while doing it.  Compatibility is another of Artiq’s strong suits. It is designed to work seamlessly with most 510 cartridges, making it a versatile option for a wide range of users.

The concealed design that houses the cartridge under the sleek aluminum shell not only adds to its discreet profile but also protects the cartridge, adding a layer of durability.

Now, how does the Artiq stand up to the units that are at the top in terms of premium feeling? When it comes to overall build quality, the Davinci is not the best, but it’s not the worst by any means. Comparing it with something like the Zeus Ion makes the Artiq’s build quality seem less impressive. Especially considering its slightly larger, but the outer shell design adds an extra layer of protection that not many other 510 batteries have.

Let’s discuss the cooling system of the Artiq. It’s different, but it might not fully meet expectations. Davinci has stated that the airflow has been improved by 90%. The truth is that the longer air path does make the vapor feel slightly smoother and cools it down. But this isn’t as big of a difference in practice.

Temperature Flexibility of Davinci ArtiqTemperature Flexibility

The DaVinci Artiq provides a standard range of temperature flexibility. This unit provides three preset temperature settings, easily adjustable by a triple press of the power button, each indicated by a distinct LED color:

2.8V (blue LED) – Low temperature for flavorful, smooth vapor.
3.2V (yellow LED) – Medium temperature for a balanced vape.
3.6V (red LED) – High temperature for potent, dense vapor.

Additionally, the Artiq features a convenient preheat function at 1.8V, activated with two quick presses of the button, warming the device for 15 seconds to enhance performance with thicker concentrates or in colder environments.

Portability of Davinci ArtiqPortability

The DaVinci Artiq is more on the larger side when it comes to 510 batteries, measuring 24mm x 42mm x 90mm and weighing around 150g. It’s unique because it can fully hide the cartridge, which some users very much appreciate.

Although discreetness is definitely a factor, being this large is not something that helps with staying on the low. On the positive side, if the unit is not in use and laying on a table, it mostly goes unnoticed since it looks like any regular gadget.

While Portability is not the strongest quality that the Artiq has, it still gets the job done. For comparison, the Litl Bit is a similarly performing 510 vape battery yet is half the size of the Artiq. If you need a unit to travel with occasionally but aren’t particularly focused on having the smallest unit out there, the Artiq may be the right fit for you.

Battery Life of Davinci ArtiqBattery Life

The Davinci Artiq comes with a pretty impressive 760 mAh battery that performs well. It can handle high voltages and currents without quickly overheating or losing charge. Another good thing about the Artiq is its relatively quick charging. It uses a USB-C port and allows for passthrough charging, which means it can be used while plugged into the charger.

The Artiq’s 760 mAh battery is one of its best features, giving reliable power for a long time. It uses a simple color system to show the current battery level:

-Green indicates 60-100%
-Blue indicates 30-60%
-Red indicates for 0-30%

The Davinci Artiq also vibrates while flashing red when the battery goes below 10%, so you won’t be caught with a dead battery. With a quick 1-hour charge time, the Artiq is really user-friendly for everyday vaping.

Davinci Artiq 510 Vape BatteryOverall Experience

Overall,  I’m really impressed with what DaVinci has done. They’ve gone beyond their well-known dry herb vaporizers and stepped into the 510-thread batteries market with the Artiq. The device’s strong aluminum build and the feature of completely hiding the cartridge make it stand out in the 510-thread battery world. It’s a discreet gadget that looks more like regular tech than a vape battery, which I really like.

While it definitely has its competitors in the market, Davinci seems to have gone for a different approach with this vape. It’s nowhere near the compact size of the Litl Bit, but it makes up for its size by concealing the cartridge entirely. It’s not as stylish as the Zeus Ion, but if you want to leave it on your desk without anyone batting an eye, it’s got you covered. You can check out our ranking page if you’d like to further compare this device to the most popular 510 thread batteries

In my opinion, the DaVinci Artiq holds its own, especially for those who want a mix of performance, discretion, and a design that’s different from the usual vape look. That’s all for now. Thanks for reading this DaVinci Artiq Review, and as always, Keep Vapin’!
