Enovap Intelligent E-Cigarette Review – Finally, innovation!

Updated: October 24, 2022
When it comes to vaping devices, the name of the game has always been about finding what works best for you.  This would also explain the plethora of advancements in vaping tech over the years, from the variable wattage devices to temperature control, and of course adjustable airflow. The only issue with the way all these things works is that it all requires you to purchase a specific kit first before you actually have any idea on how it’ll actually perform and if it does so according to your tastes or standards. The Enovap is looking to change how all that works in order to deliver a truly customizable vaping experience easily changed at the touch of a button. Let’s find out how exactly in our review down below.
Editors Note: For those who are looking for the easiest and most efficient way to make the switch, we suggest checking out the Slice, a pod-based vaping system that offers a hassle-free approach to vaping, no settings, no ohm law, just vapor.

Review: Enovap

Enovap Review

Enovap front display

Manufacturing Quality

What initially piqued our curiosity about the Enovap upon opening the box was just how proprietary all the parts of the device looked. The pods included in the kit look like nothing we’ve reviewed before.

To share some perspective most pods, coils, or cartridges used in the majority of the devices we’ve seen so far tend to share some similarities in overall construction, design, and operation.

The Enovap pods, however, seems to have taken things out of the proverbial box. Each of the two included pods is its own tank and feature magnetic contacts that connect directly to the device themselves. While we’ve seen devices that hold multiple pods like the Khree UFO, the Enovap so far is the only one that has two pods powered up at the same time.

As for the aesthetics of the Enovap, the device takes on a unique approach and comes up almost looking like a futuristic breathalyzer thanks to the mouthpiece of the device positioned at an odd 45 degrees. There are two small windows located off to the side which are amply sized for monitoring remaining e-liquid levels.

A vertical OLED display is also located here and it manages to look vibrant and crisp even when viewed underneath direct sunlight. People who use 510 cartridges tend to prefer the Tronian Nutron.

The front of the Enovap is where you’ll find the firing button which is also used to power the device on and off. Also on the front and directly underneath the mouthpiece is the adjustable airflow slider which allows for easy tweaking in regards to how much airflow you get per puff.

Flavour Quality

Unique pod system aside, our description of the Enovap has been pretty much standard fare. The thing is, what truly sets the Enovap apart is in how the device is able to simultaneously fire up two pods at the same time while providing variable wattage to each pod and what makes the Enovap even more unique are the never-before-seen applications this kind of technology makes possible.

For starters, the onboard chip features a mode dubbed “Hit Control” which lets you precisely control the amount of nicotine you get per puff.

How the Enovap accomplishes this is through its use of the double pod system. One pod holds e-liquid which contains nicotine, while the second pod holds nicotine-free e-liquid. When vaping in hit control mode, the Enovap fires off both pods at the same time albeit at different wattage levels.

So if you wanted to vape with a stronger nicotine hit, you could adjust the Enovap and it would fire the nicotine pod at a higher wattage while firing the nicotine-free pod at a lower output. This also works the other way around if suddenly have a change of heart and would like to vape with a weaker nicotine hit.

Using the same principle, the Enovap also features a “Flavour Mix” and “ Intelligence” mode. While the flavour mix is pretty self-explanatory, we’ve found the true calling of the Enovap in its ability to be a much more effective tool for those who want to wean themselves nicotine altogether via its unique intelligent vaping feature.

Basically, the Enovap goes on autopilot and dictates the appropriate nicotine strength of each puff. Take note that this process doesn’t simply happen overnight as the Enovap takes its time in slowly tapering your nicotine levels down.

As groundbreaking as the Enovap is, it would be premature to call it a perfect device. It definitely has problems in the power delivery department thanks to the fact that the device relies on a single 18650 battery to power up two sets of pods at the same time.

While this isn’t an issue when the device is fully charged, it can be problematic as the battery level dips below  40% and the single  18650  starts to lack the required voltage to quickly ramp up the pods to temp. It’s important to note that this is only a potential problem for those who prefer a warmer vape.

Naturally, the Enovap features variable wattage, letting the device ramp up to a maximum of 60 watts. If you prefer, you could totally forgo the pod-mixing features of the device and simply set it to vape from a single pod. Doing this also seems to alleviate the power delivery issues mentioned earlier and simply converts the Enovap into your typical single battery device.Enovap detached

Ease of Use

Despite the multitude of features, the Enovap is capable of, the device was surprisingly easy to get the hang as most of the functions have already been streamlined for easy adjustability. Though it will never be as simple as something like the Slice.

Naturally, there is still a learning curve involved but even beginners can easily overcome it within a day thanks to the detailed and easy to follow manual that comes with the kit.

Removing the pods from the main body of the Enovap is simple enough and the refill ports are adequately sized so you’re not going to have any issues with your e-liquid bottles.

The Enovap is also one of the only devices that lets you track your usage statistics and nicotine/e-liquid consumption via an app that’s supported on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. We’re no tech-wizards but the application is designed well enough that we never felt that it was a challenge in navigating its various menus, sub-menus, and functions.

Portability

Despite its use of pods, the Enovap doesn’t really fit into the pod-style category as far as size or dimensions go. It’s slightly larger than your average single 18650 devices but smaller than a dual battery set up at the same time.

By all means, the Enovap is still pocketable but those looking for something more compact might find the dimensions of the device to be a bit overbearing. This goes doubly so when factoring in the weight of the Enovap which stands over 200g, practically the same weight of a dual battery device which is to say pretty heavy.

Overall Experience

Those looking for a truly unique and novel vaping experience should definitely give the Enovap a shot. Considering that the device is the first in its product line, it manages to pull a lot of things quite well.

We’re pretty sure at this point that future iterations of the Enovap will fix the power delivery issues by using a strong battery, so those who are interested in this device but don’t necessarily fashion themselves as early adopters might do well to wait for an update or refresh to the Enovap to see how things pan out.

If you are looking for what we think is the best open pod vape than check out the Slice. Or if mods are your thing be sure to check out the Smok X-Priv.
