The Huni Badger Pro launches at a time when portable Concentrate Vaporizers are starting to blur the line between on-the-go convenience and serious vapor performance. The original Huni Badger earned a loyal following for its rugged build and direct-draw power, which was more suited for home use.
What makes the Huni Badger Pro stand out is how it blurs the lines between established device types. While it is often listed as an e-rig, it does not come with water filtration out of the box, unlike all Electric Dab Rigs. At the same time, it is not a Dab Pen, since it does not have an internal chamber for you to drop your concentrates in. Instead, it works much like a straw, with the closes example being the Seahorse Pro Plus by Lookah. The tip heats up, and you simply touch it to your concentrate, inhaling directly to maintain full control over your session.
Having spent time with the Huni Badger Pro, were ready to break down how well it delivers on its promises. If you want to see how the true E Rigs perform, you can visit our Best Electric Dab Rigs ranking page for performance analysis and feature comparisons across leading models in this space.
How It Works
There are several ways to use the Huni Badger Pro, but the most common and the method we will focus on first is as a nectar collector. This method is straightforward and allows you to start dabbing quickly, whether you’re at home or on the go. In the next steps, we will cover the standard setup where you use the heated tip to vaporize your concentrate directly from your container. While these basics are consistent, the Huni Badger Pro does offer additional flexibility and can be used in other ways, which we will discuss later in this review.
Before you get started, ensure you have a fully charged 18650 battery, as the device does not include one in the box. Once your battery is ready, you can move through the following steps to begin your session.
Heres a step-by-step guide on how to use your Huni Badger Pro:
Step 1: Install a fully charged 18650 battery (positive end first) and replace the magnetic cover; the screen will then display the battery level.
Step 2: Slide the dust cover open, thread the mouthpiece clockwise until snug, and then close the cover.
Step 3: Tap the Huni Badger logo five times to enter STANDBY mode.
Step 4: Press and hold the logo to cycle temperature settings; release at your desired level.
Step 5: Tap the logo once to start heating; wait for “READY” to display. Preheat will depend on battery level.
Step 6: Inhale gently while lightly touching the HBProTip to your extract, no dunking needed.
Step 7: Tap the logo once to stop heating (saves battery) or let the timer expire.
Pro Tips/Information:
The Huni Badger Pro is primarily used as a nectar collector, letting you heat the tip and dab concentrates directly from a container. It also comes with 10mm and 14mm mouthpieces, which double as adapters for attaching water bubblers if you want to add water filtration. You can use the device with compatible 510-thread cartridges by removing the tip and screwing the cartridge into place, providing an additional option for oil-based extracts. One important thing to note is that the devices preheat time and performance depend on your battery level, so its best to start with a fully charged battery for the most consistent sessions. Once the display reads ready, you can begin your session as normal.
Manufacturing Quality
The main reason the Huni Badger Pro feels like a true improvement over its predecessor is its construction and design choices. While the Pro is noticeably lighter than the original, which usually might suggest lower build quality, in practice, it feels more robust and performs better during regular use. The weight reduction makes it much more portable and easier to handle, but it still feels like a solid, well-built device rather than something flimsy.
Some of the upgrades, such as the extra sealing to address reclaim seepage, are definitely welcome, but honestly, they are more of an expected fix at this point, given how long the original has been out. It’s nice that they solved the issue, but it doesn’t feel revolutionary.
What genuinely stands out to me are two things. First, the new LCD screen. Although it is simple, it represents a significant improvement over the original and provides just the right amount of information without clutter. Second, the redesigned tip works noticeably better. The chamber is also a step in the right direction, although, for the price, I would have liked to see an even sturdier design. Something closer to a 3D chamber, or even a side heating chamber like the one on the New Peak Pro, is obviously designed for this type of device. But the ceramic chamber at this point feels quite regular. Even so, it is an improvement over its predecessor.
One thing I’m not super keen on is the idea of switching to a touch button instead of a physical one; it’s a mixed bag. While it gives the device a cleaner look, I found the touch response to be hit-or-miss. Personally, I would rather have a traditional button that works every time, instead of a finicky touch sensor.
Still, when you put all of these improvements together, the Huni Badger Pro is a definite step up from the original model. The build feels more thought out, the device is more user-friendly, and you get a package that is genuinely more enjoyable to use, even if a couple of areas could still use a little more polish.
Vapor Quality
When it comes to vapor quality, the Huni Badger Pro is probably the best nectar collector Ive tried so far. It nails what you want out of this category: simple operation, solid hits, and much better performance than the original. The HBProTip heats up quickly and offers three temp settings, so you can dial in what matters to you. Lower temperatures keep the flavor front and center, while higher settings produce thick, dense clouds, even if the taste slightly diminishes.
The stainless steel air path is good, as expected. Any device built for flavor needs to avoid plastic or silicone in the vapor path, as those materials can alter the taste over time. Here, you get pure, clean vapor as long as you keep things clean.
One of my favorite features is the ability to upgrade the vapor quality with water filtration. Since you get both 10 millimeter and 14 millimeter mouthpieces, its easy to attach a small bubbler, such as the Utillian Glass bubbler. If you want to use higher temps but still keep things smooth, adding water filtration makes a big difference. Just keep in mind that a smaller, portable bubbler works best because the tip is still a straw, allowing you to move it around easily. A huge glass piece just isnt practical for this kind of device.
Now, about the chamber. I do wish the chamber were a little more advanced. With the Pro, it feels like a lot of the upgrade budget went toward the tip, the removable battery, and the new screen, which are all welcome additions. However, the chamber itself is quite basic. For the price, Id love to see a true 3D ceramic heating chamber, like the one you get with the Focus V Aeris. That one heats from the sides and bottom, so the flavor is just richer from the start. The Huni Badger Pro is a step up from the original, but theres still room to improve here if vapor quality is your number one priority.
Without any water filtration, the vapor remains smooth for a nectar collector, but after a few hits in a row, you do start to feel the temperature rise. If youre planning on taking big dabs or running back-to-back sessions, Id definitely recommend using a bubbler for the best experience.
Overall, the Huni Badger Pro does its job exceptionally well and is easily one of the best in its class, but it’s clear that the design prioritizes features like the screen and portability over making significant leaps in vapor quality. For most people, though, that tradeoff is worth it. And if you’ve tried the original, you will for sure notice a difference. If that’s enough for you, then this might be worth taking a look at.
Temperature Flexibility
One of the welcome upgrades in the Huni Badger Pro is its built-in temperature flexibility. Unlike the original, which required swapping between different tips for low- or high-temp sessions, the Pro gives you three distinct temperature settings built right into the device:
Low: Best for flavor-focused draws with subtle vapor
Medium: A balanced profile with both cloud production and taste
High: Strong, dense vapor output for those chasing bigger hits
The ability to switch between modes with a simple press makes the Pro much more versatile than its predecessor. You no longer have to commit to a single temp style or carry multiple tips to adapt to different concentrates. I do wish there were precise temperature control, though, as I find that each type of wax has a specific sweet spot, which is difficult to achieve with something that only has three preset temperatures.
If you’re someone who really likes to fine-tune your experience to match each type of wax or concentrate, some E Rigs like the Utillian 8 offer four temperature levels with Boost mode, ranging from 245°C to 330°C, allowing you to dial in the ideal setting depending on the thickness or terpene content of your concentrate. That kind of range makes a noticeable difference when you’re trying to hit that perfect sweet spot.
While the Huni Badger Pro doesnt offer that same level of granularity, it still brings meaningful upgrades over the original design. You get simple, reliable performance across a clear temp range, and for most users, Medium mode will cover the majority of use cases. That medium setting, in particular, hits a sweet spot, delivering smooth vapor with solid cloud production and surprisingly good flavor retention.
Battery Life
Honestly, battery life is one of the areas where the Huni Badger Pro really shines. Running on a single 18650 battery, it offers both flexibility and genuine convenience. The fact that you can just pop in a fresh battery and keep going is a huge advantage, especially if youre the type who likes to dab on the go or run long sessions without worrying about finding a charger. With a high-drain battery, you can get through several sessions at lower temperatures before needing to swap, and even on higher settings, it holds up better than expected.
The replaceable battery setup is a big deal because it means you can always have a backup ready, and youre never stuck waiting for a recharge. This is especially important with the Huni Badger Pro, since the preheat time depends directly on your battery level. For the fastest preheat and strongest performance, ensure your batteries are kept topped up and ready.
Pass-through USB-C charging is another highlight. Being able to use the device while its plugged in gives you freedom to keep your session going, even if you forgot to swap out a dead battery. Whether youre at home, at a festival, or just out and about, having options for charging and swapping is a real upgrade over devices with built-in batteries.
If you prefer the all-in-one approach, most devices follow this idea. Units like the Pulsar APX E Rig come with built-in batteries, however, you lose the flexibility of hot-swapping. With the Huni Badger Pro, you get the best of both worlds: replaceable batteries when you want them, and easy charging when you need it. All in all, battery life and battery flexibility are big reasons to consider this device.
Portability
Portability with the Huni Badger Pro is better than you might expect for something that can deliver rig-level hits. The device itself is compact, and the kit comes with one of the best cases available. The case is sturdy, well-organized, and features a designated space for everything you need, including the unit, honey pots, adapters, a dab tool, and even extra batteries. If you actually plan to travel with this setup, it’s a necessity. It keeps all your parts together, protects them, and ensures you don’t lose track of any accessories.
One of my favorite things about the Pro for portability is the honey pots. These little concentrate containers are perfect for loading just enough for a session. This helps avoid one of the big drawbacks with nectar collectors, where you sometimes end up half-vaporizing the leftovers in a larger jar. With the honey pots, you can keep things tidy, use up all your material, and avoid burning the sides of your main stash.
That being said, this is not the most pocket-friendly device. You’re not going to throw it in your jeans like a Dab Pen. The Huni Badger Pro, complete with its case and accessories, is designed for those who want a solid, portable setup but are willing to carry a small bag or backpack and use the device wherever they go and whenever they have a chance to sit down. If pure portability is your priority and you’re looking for something truly stealthy for everyday carry, the Utillian 6 or another dab pen might actually be a better fit. Those devices are smaller, lighter, and sometimes even deliver better performance for the price, especially when paired with a small bubbler.
Ease of Use
The Huni Badger Pro is pretty simple to use once you get the hang of it. The single-touch button interface keeps the controls straightforward, with no confusing menus or hidden settings. That said, the touch button can be a little picky. You need to hit it just right for the Pro to register your taps, and the response isnt always instant. Once you get the feel for it, it is fine, but out of the box, it takes a little trial and error before everything clicks.
Cleaning and maintenance are also fairly easy. The straight vapor path helps prevent sticky buildup, which can be a hassle with more complicated rigs. The kit comes with pipe cleaners and a dab tool, and everything fits into the case, so you won’t have to dig around for accessories when you want to tidy up. If you want to take cleaning even further, pairing the Pro with a dedicated cleaning kit, such as the Zeus Grime Kit, makes a real difference, especially for accessing all the small nooks inside the tip and mouthpieces.
There are a few areas that could be improved. The battery door magnets hold, but they do not always snap into place as firmly as desired, and the magnetic cap for the mouthpiece can rattle slightly during transport. These are small annoyances, but worth noting.
Overall, the learning curve is short. Once you get a feel for the timing of the touch controls and how you like your sessions, the Huni Badger Pro slides easily into your routine. Whether you are dabbing solo or adding water filtration, the device is approachable and low-stress to keep clean and ready for the next round.
Overall Experience
The Huni Badger Pro is not trying to be a full E Rig, and that is actually what makes it refreshing. Instead of going for buckets, water chambers, and a complicated set-up, it leans into what nectar collectors do best: quick heat-up, direct dabs, and true portability. With its upgraded ceramic tip, fast sessions, and the flexibility of a removable battery, the Pro manages to deliver sessions that approach what larger rigs offer, especially when paired with a small glass bubbler.
What I like about using the Pro is how little effort it takes. There is no messing around with apps, extra sensors, or endless menus. You tap the touch control, set your temp, and you are off. Once you get the feel for the controls, there is hardly any downtime between sessions. It is simple, reliable, and just works.
Of course, if you’re the type who wants full water-cooled filtration or precise digital temperature control, this might not be your endgame device. For that, you are better off with a dedicated e-rig, such as the Utillian 8 or one of the options from our Best Electric Dab Rig rankings. However, if you’re looking for a device that strikes a balance between power and real-world portability, the Huni Badger Pro perfectly fills that middle ground. It is ideal for anyone who wants to take real dabs anywhere, without lugging around a full rig.
Bottom line: the Huni Badger Pro delivers where it counts. It is fast, flexible, easy to use, and built for concentrate fans who want more freedom in how and where they session. For a lot of people, thats going to be exactly what they need.
