PCKT VRTCL Review

PCKT VRTCL how it works

How it Use

Just like other oil vapes out there, all you need to do is insert the cartridge and power it up. 5 clicks of the button will do exactly that and then all you need to do is engage the heating element.

To do that you can either use it in manual mode which engages with the push of the button, or inhale-activation. Most vaporizers use either inhale activation or button activation, so it’s nice to see both options there.

Just like the PCKT Two, you’re given 5 voltage settings to play with – 2.43, 2.73, 3.09, 3.54, and 3.84v.

There aren’t really many other slim, compact oil vaporizers which have variable voltage settings. We love how they’ve calibrated these settings and it really changes up the experience and flavors you get from your cartridge.

PCKT VRTCL vapor quality

Vapor Quality

For the most part, oil vapes perform like oil vapes. There’s little variability in the device itself and more of the vapor quality traits depends on the cartridge/oils themselves.

However, The wide array of voltage settings on the PCKT VRTCL really changes this up. The difference between the low and high settings is significant in terms of the flavor profile and cloud production.

We’d actually make the bold claim that the PCKT VRTCL, PCKT Two, and Vessel have the best performance of any oil vapes out there.

PCKT VRTCL manufacturing quality

Manufacturing Quality

We’re very keen on the build quality and design of the PCKT devices. The one-piece, anodized aluminum feels great in the hands and looks clean too.

From past experiences, the reliability of the PCKT One Plus was excellent and we reckon that this new vaporizer will also stand the test of time.

In the box you’re given a 0.5mL adapter, 1.0mL adapter, a USB-C charger, warranty card, manual, and the PCKT Two itself. It’s all that’s really needed for an oil vaporizer and we have no issues with it.

PCKT VRTCL batteryBattery Life

Just like its brother the PCKT Two, the VRTCL makes use of USB-C. Finally, MicroUSB is being phased out and we can enjoy the superiority of USB-C.

At 380mAh it’ll last for a good while, though not quite as long as the PCKT Two at 660mAh.

If you’re a heavy user then you’ll be better off with something with 500mAh+, however for most occasional and frequent consumers out there, the 380mAh cell will do just fine.

It’ll take less than 30 minutes to charge up from empty which is partly due to that USB-C port, offsetting the reduced battery life part.

PCKT VRTCL portability

Portability

Oil vapes are small through and through. The VRTCL isn’t quite the smallest and most compact oil vape out there, but it’s about as compact as you need to be. It’ll fit in any pocket or bag and while it’s not the most petite unit out there, the rich feature-set will offset that compromise.

PCKT VRTCL ease of use

Ease of Use

Slide in a cartridge, turn it on, inhale. Oil vapes all around are super easy to use and about as convenient as ever. No clean-up, no smells, no mess – if you’re looking for a low-maintenance way to consume, oil vapes are the way to go.

The fact it has draw activation or button activation is nice for passing off to beginners and friends as they’ll get results without having a problem.

PCKT VRTCL discreetness

Discreetness

Looking more like an e-cig type vape than anything else, these oil vapes are almost too easy. Without a cartridge inserted it appears more like a tube of lipstick or small power bank, which could boost its stealth factor.

Regardless, oil vapes are as discreet as they come and even if the PCKT VRTCL isn’t the smallest out there, it’s unlikely you’ll run into issues with it.

PCKT VRTCL overall experienceOverall Experience

The new PCKT VRTCL is a well-deserved upgrade from the past generation of oil vapes. This alongside the PCKT Two marks the new units to beat and until we see USB-C and multiple power settings on other oil vapes.

The original PCKT One Plus was a great building block for the future devices and the new PCKT vapes really nailed it! We’d definitely recommend the VRTCL.
