How it Works

When it comes to how to use Utillian 8, you can follow these steps and enjoy a smooth vaping experience: 

Step 1: Ensure your Utillian 8 is fully charged for optimal performance. To check the battery level, quickly press the power button twice.
Step 2: Before the first use, run the device at its highest temperature for a full cycle. This process removes any residual oils from manufacturing.
Step 3: Fill the mouthpiece with water just above the two air holes, but not beyond half the height of the central cone. Test and adjust the water level by drawing air through the bubbler.
Step 4: Carefully attach the glass mouthpiece to the base, ensuring the bottom hole aligns with the slot on the inner wall. This alignment is crucial for a proper vapor path.
Step 5: Screw the BurstHit 3D Heating Chamber into place and secure the magnetic carb cap on top.
Step 5.5: Choose between hot and cold loading methods. Hot loading (adding wax to a heated chamber) enhances flavor, while cold loading is more convenient.
Step 6: Apply your wax onto the tool. It will melt off into the heating chamber during the heating process. Avoid overloading for better flavor preservation.

The Utillian 8 offers four unique temperature settings that range from:

1. Temperature Level: 205 – 260° C (400- 500° F)
2. Temperature Level: 260-315° C (500- 600° F)
3. Temperature Level: 315-370° C (600- 700° F)
4. Temperature Level: 370- 425° C (700- 800° F)

Temperatures 1 and 2 best suit users seeking flavor and active ingredient extraction, such as terpenes. In contrast, temperatures 3 and 4 are better suited for users seeking big hits and cloud density. Temperature accuracy is not a strong suit of the U8 because it doesn’t keep a pinpoint accurate temperature. So if you love hits at a specific temperature, you will need to use a lot of experience and intuition. You will get the hang of it over time. Still, the U8 won’t be as consistent as an e rig like the Carta 2, which has a digital display and exact temperature accuracy. The Carta 2 is more expensive to buy and maintain than the U8, but its accuracy is the best in this area.

Vapor Quality

The interchangeable fabric cover allows for greater customizability while providing a nice grip that feels very comfortable in your hand.

The BurstHit 3D Chamber is made with ceramic and stainless steel, which helps keep all flavors undisturbed while providing more than enough power. The carb cap/dab tool is made using Zirconia, which is widely known for its low thermal conductivity, making it an effective material for this specific use case. The tool won’t heat up, allowing you to agitate your materials comfortably throughout your session. The built-in tool also helps prevent wax-soaked and sticky tools from leaving marks that need to be cleaned on your table. It’s astounding that the idea of an inbuilt tool has not been executed in this category yet because it seems like such a no-brainer when handling sticky rosin, which can be a problem when it starts getting on surfaces. Imagine you just had a session, and have to get up and find some alcohol to wipe your tool or table. Utillian has identified this straightforward yet extremely useful feature for all their wax vaporizers.

The bubbler or mouthpiece also earns its mention for its shape and tint. This narrow style of bubbler helps prevent splash-back while percolating. The slight tint prevents grime from showing, so you can go a little longer without cleaning the bubbler. Any glass enthusiast will understand this benefit, as bubblers get funky after a couple of sessions. So you may pay hundreds of dollars for a beautiful new gadget and have it look like it needs cleaning within the first few days, but not with the U8. While cleanliness is encouraged, it’s not always at the top of your to-do list. With the far lower grime build-up of vaporizer bubblers and the low flavor distortion of the build-up, there will be room for more enjoyment with less cleaning. Another detail that proves that the Utillian 8 is developed with user experience in mind. 

Battery Life

E rigs are generally extremely great at providing portable sessions compared to old-school rigs. The fact that this device is heated by electricity is extremely convenient, and it removes the danger that comes with the traditional rig setup that uses a torch to heat your dab.

The Utillian 8 comes packed with a 3150 mAh battery that lasts several days without needing to recharge, depending on the frequency of use. The auto-shutoff feature also means you won’t drain the device if you forget to turn the device off, a feature you won’t find on most e rigs.

Portability

Rigs are notoriously difficult to take around due to their glass components and sticky dab tools. E Rigs are much better, but still not as easy as a dry herb vaporizer or wax pen. If you have enough extract experience, you’re probably cringing at the thought of combining sticky shatter and cotton.

Because the wax tool sits comfortably within the heating chamber, you can carry this device around in its provided carrying case without the worry of the shatter sticking on everything. Whip it out, fill it up, and prepare yourself for a heavy-hitting session full of flavor.

However, if portability is your key deciding factor, we recommend dab pens instead of electronic rigs. A device like the Utillian 5 Wax Pen is an absolute workhorse that handles large amounts of extracts to pump out massive vapor clouds. In contrast, the U8 is much better at generating flavor and larger clouds, but the drawback of portability. Wax pens, in general, can make quick work of various extracts, providing the closest experience to a traditional rig. 

Ease of Use

While E Rigs are generally more involved than dab pens, they are much easier to use than traditional rigs. Utillian has put some serious effort into designing this device with every common e rig flaw in mind. The carb cap and wax tool hybrid is an absolute winner, providing a smooth and seamless session for beginners and connoisseurs alike.

The interface is surprisingly simple, and the LEDs glow beautifully behind the fabric and under the bubbler. If ease of use is all you care about, the Core 2.1 is just as simple to use but at a cheaper price point. You won’t achieve the same pure flavor that the U8 offers, but it’s close enough when compared to other devices. Discreetness

Making a case for an e rig’s discreteness is a challenge, largely due to the bigger form factor, cloud density, and glass bubblers commonly found on just about any e rig.
