How It Works

Yocan Kodo Pro is designed to work with most 510 thread cartridges, giving you lots of options. You can use pre-filled cartridges or refillable ones if you like making your own.

Here’s how to use the Yocan Kodo Pro as a 510-thread battery:

Step 1: Connect your 510-thread cartridge.
Step 2: Press the power button 5 times quickly to turn the Yocan Kodo Pro on.
Step 3: Set your desired temperature setting using the (+) and (-) buttons.
Step 4: Press the Power button 2 times to start the preheat mode
Step 5: Once ready to start your session, double press again to turn off the preheat and then hold the button down while you inhale.

To make sure the cartridge connects well to the Yocan Kodo Pro, it’s important to stop turning as soon as you feel some resistance. If you over-tighten, the battery may not recognize the cartridge. If you have any trouble connecting, simply take the cartridge off and attach it again.

Manufacturing Quality

The Kodo Pro is definitely small but decently powerful enough to work well with any 510-threaded cartridge. The shape of the mod is smooth and comfortable to hold.

The new OLED screen is a great upgrade from the original Kodo. It shows me all the important information I need. It tells me the voltage setting, which is crucial because different concentrates need different heat levels. With this screen, I can adjust the heat to suit the concentrate I’m using.

On another note, I didn’t find the screwing mechanism really reliable, honestly. I would have liked to see something easier, like the magnetic adapter that comes with other premium units like the Utillian 50. The U50 comes with two magnetic adapters that you can stick onto any cartridge you like, making it easy to fit the cartridge into the device.

While the Kodo Pro is built to last, the zinc alloy chassis feels more like plastic and doesn’t give a premium feel, especially when compared to the more luxurious-looking Zeus Ion with its gold details.

Overall, the build quality could be better because the plastic casing isn’t very durable. It can crack if the device is dropped or bent while a cartridge is attached. It’s not the most durable device, so if you’re prone to dropping things, I recommend using a lanyard. Despite these small drawbacks, the Kodo Pro is still a reliable and user-friendly choice when considering its price tag.

Temperature Flexibility

One of the most impressive features of the Yocan Kodo Pro is its precise and flexible temperature control. Unlike other devices that have preset temperature levels, the Kodo Pro allows you to adjust the voltage from 1.8V to 4.2V in 0.1V increments. This means you can customize your vaping experience according to your preference.

The Kodo Pro also has a preheat function that warms up the cartridge for 10 seconds at 1.8V, ensuring smooth and consistent vapor production. The (+) and the (-) buttons are easy to use to control the voltage, and the OLED screen shows me the voltage, modes, puff count, and battery level.

If you don’t want to create large vapor and prefer stealth vaping, low voltage settings will do the trick for you. The higher the voltage, the thicker the clouds. The choice is yours. Just keep in mind that the thicker you want your vapor to be, the less flavor will be preserved.

Portability

If you are looking for a portable and discreet 510-thread battery, the Yocan Kodo Pro might be a good choice for you. This device is small, compact, and lightweight, making it easy to carry in your pocket, bag, or hand. It measures just over two inches long, nearly one inch wide, and about half an inch thick. It is as small as a credit card and probably just as thick as your phone.

The cartridge sits almost entirely within the device, minimizing the risk of breakage and allowing for further discretion. This is similar to the Utillian 50, which is slightly ahead with its magnetic adapter and a locking mechanism to secure the cartridge within the unit.

The Yocan Kodo Pro also has a lanyard attachment point, which lets you easily wear it around your neck or wrist. This is a handy feature that adds convenience and eliminates any worries about transporting the device. You can always have the Kodo Pro ready for use, whether you are at home or on the move.

Battery Life

The Yocan Kodo Pro has a 400mAh battery that can power any 510-threaded cartridge. It also has a USB Type-C charging port, which is an upgrade from the older micro-USB port. This means that the Kodo Pro can charge faster and more reliably than other devices.

While the Yocan Kodo Pro offers a satisfactory battery life with its 400mAh capacity and efficient charging via USB Type-C, it falls slightly short when compared to devices like the Zeus Ion, which is equally as compact but fits a larger battery.

The battery life of the Kodo Pro depends on how often and how long you use it. If you are a heavy user, you might need to recharge it once a day. Overall Experience

Testing the Yocan Kodo Pro, I found it a decent 510-thread battery but is very dependent on user and usage. Its very compact design makes it very good for on-the-go use, but its lower battery life can make longer trips almost impossible without a recharge.
