Yocan Verve Review: Does this 510-Threaded Battery Make Yocan’s Top 3 Best Vaporizers List?

Updated: April 10, 2024

The Yocan Vaporizer line has seen its fair share of different Vaporizers, from cheap batteries to well-rounded wax pens. I will review the Yocan Verve, a new device with a draw-activated mechanism, a variable voltage system, and a hidden cartridge design.

But how does it perform with different types of cartridges? How does it compare to other similar 510 thread batteries on the market? In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Yocan Verve and see how it stacks up against the competition. If you want to see a more condensed comparison with other 510 thread batteries, check out the best 510 thread batteries ranking page. It will help you see how the Yocan Verve performs and its features compared to other devices in the market, such as the Zeus Ion, one of the more premium batteries in today’s market.

So, without further ado, let’s jump into the Yocan Verve review and find out what this device has to offer.

Yocan verve 510 Thread Battery How it work

How it Works

The Yocan Verve is one of the few devices available for 510 thread cartridges that don’t require any button to activate. All you need is just to inhale from the mouthpiece. This system is quite unique and might be difficult to grasp in the beginning, so I’ll go through the basics first. Short and firm inhales work best to trigger a response such as:

-To Preheat: Inhale 2 Times
-To Change the Voltage setting: Inhale 3 Times

So, how do I get the Yocan Verve to work?
Step 1: Charge your device fully before you use it for the first time.
Step 2: Choose a 510-threaded cartridge that fits the device.
Step 3: Select your voltage setting by cycling through the options.
Step 4: Start your pre-heating.
Step 5: Inhale after a few seconds.

That’s it. You will have a button-less experience with the Yocan Verve. While this is definitely unique, some people prefer at least a single button to interact with the device. Units like the Utillian 50 use draw inhalation with preheating, and a single button might accommodate more users since it’s easier to use in general and can make sessions quicker thanks to the draw flow sensor.

manufacturing quality Yocan verve 510 Thread Battery

Manufacturing Quality

The Yocan Verve is a well-designed device made with decent-quality materials. It has a sleek and durable aluminum shell that protects the cartridge when you carry it in your pocket or purse.

Compared to vaporizers made of plastic, the Yocan Verve looks slightly more durable and can withstand more use without getting damaged. Its design is simple and minimal, which appeals to people who prefer a more on-the-low look.

I really liked how easy it was to use. The device uses a strong magnetic connection, like the Zeus Ion, which makes it simple to switch between different-sized cartridges. The Ion also conceals the cart in the same way the Verve does, inside of the unit.

Yocan verve 510 Thread Battery Temperature

Temperature Flexibility

The Yocan Verve has three temperature settings you can choose from, this is more than enough for the average user. They are identified with 3 different LED colors that go as follows:

-2.6 Volts – White LED
-3.2 Volts – Blue LED
-3.8 Volts – Green LED

In general, the lower settings are aimed at more flavorful sessions, while the higher settings usually provide thicker vapor with less flavor. If you are seeking a balance between flavor and potency, you can choose the middle setting.

I think the temperature range is too wide, and this leads to thicker clouds. So, I usually choose the highest or lowest temperature settings and avoid the middle range. But when I use something like the Litl Bit, I tend to use the full range more often because it has lower temperatures. This allows for more customization. On the other hand, the Verve doesn’t have much difference in taste between the middle and high settings.

The Yocan Verve also has a handy feature that preheats the cartridges for 10 seconds at 1.8V. To activate the preheat function, you just need to inhale from the mouthpiece twice. Overall, the Yocan Verve’s temperature options are better than some other 510 thread batteries, but there is still room for improvement.

Portability Yocan verve 510 Thread Battery

Portability

The Yocan Verve is quite small, measuring only 27x27x112mm. This makes it easy to carry in your pocket or hold in the palm of your hand. It’s a compact 510 thread battery that can fit comfortably in your pocket or purse.

However, not everyone may prefer the Yocan Verve’s level of portability. Some users might find it too bulky and heavy to hold comfortably. So, whether or not the Yocan Verve is portable depends on your preference and needs. If you are looking for a more discreet and lightweight option, you should consider the Tronian Nutron. In my opinion, this thin pen style is the easiest form factor to take around with me. It feels more portable and discreet compared to the Yocan Verve.

Battery Life Yocan verve

Battery Life

The Yocan Verve has a built-in 450mAh battery that can provide enough power for several vaping sessions. The device can charge fully in less than an hour using the Type-C charging port, which is faster and more reliable than the older micro-USB port.

However, the Yocan Verve has a relatively short battery life compared to other premium 510 batteries. If you prefer a longer battery life session, you should check out Zeus ION, which comes with a 650mAh battery.

The Yocan Verve also does not have a battery indicator or an OLED screen, which makes it hard to know the battery level and when to recharge it. The device also does not have an auto shut-off feature, meaning it may overheat or waste battery power if not used properly.

Overall Experience Yocan verve 510 Thread Battery

Overall Experience

Trying out the Yocan Verve, I was intrigued by this 510 threaded battery’s unique and convenient design, allowing for a button-less vaping experience. It has a hidden cartridge system that protects your material from exposure and damage. It also has a variable voltage system that lets you adjust your vaping experience and a preheat function that enhances the flavor and consistency of your sessions.

However, the Yocan Verve is not perfect. It has a limited voltage range that may not suit all users or cartridges, and its overall build quality is good but not great. The good news is that it’s very affordable, making it a decent choice for beginners. I would put it as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Rhotron, although I give the edge to Tronian’s unit for better quality overall.
