What is an Oil Pen?

Oil pens are usually pod-based and come as a complete system. The advantage of oil pens is the consistency between the cartridges and the battery itself. As they are made strictly for each other, unlike the more universal 510 threaded batteries.

We’ve put together a list of what we think are the best oil pens on the market to make it easier to understand.

What Kind of Oil can I Use in an Oil Pen?

Oil pens are able to handle almost any type of vapable oil. The keyword being “vape-able”. This means oils specifically made to be used with an oil device and inhaled.

Food based oils or oils taken orally cannot and should not be put into your oil pen. If you are unsure, always consult your supplier or physician.

How Do I Fill an Oil Pen?

Filling an oil pen will take some patience. It is best to use a bottle with a very fine tip. Slowly fill the tank allowing the oil to settle.

For thicker oils applying a bit of external heat via a blow dryer will help make oils more flow easier.

How Do Oil Pens Create Vapor?

Once the tank of an oil pen is filled with cannabis concentrates, that concentrates are wicked to the atomizer in the center of the oil pen.

The atomizer is usually composed of ceramic or a mixture of cotton and ceramic, where it is heated and vaporized.
