Arizer Solo Vaporizer Review – Flavor galore !

24
The Arizer Solo has been a dominant player in the field of Portable Vaporizers over the last few years. This is the first Arizer Solo Vaporizer Review we are doing in our blog. When the unit came out, people were astonished at the quality of the vapor and its great manufacturing quality. A few years later, this vape is still a quality benchmark for many other vaporizers. Today we will give you a detailed review of this awesome portable unit to tell you guys what sets this vaporizer apart from other inferior units.

Arizer Solo Vaporizer Review

How the Arizer Solo Works

Vapor Quality

After using this Vape for a few years now it has become synonymous with vapor quality. No of the other Portable Vaporizers have been able to convince us that it is better in this category than the Solo. But why do we like the vapor so much? First of all, it has an excellent consistency. The vapor is nicely dense and very visible even at lower heat settings. Second, the vapor is incredibly smooth. Even on high heat settings you will find that the vapor is not harsh at all. Lastly, the flavor the unit produces is just awesome. On low heat settings it is a vapor flavor explosion of pure crisp and natural tasting flavor. For all these reasons we give the Solo an excellent score of 9/10 in this category.

Now if you’re looking to get the best vaporization experience possible with the Arizer Solo we’d like to recommend pairing your unit with the new vapor cooling device from ZEUSArsenal, the ZEUS Iceborn. This revolutionary device actually increases the vapor quality of your Solo by 2 points, dramatically cooling it down for smooth frosty draws. It’s also much more efficient than other filtration devices that use water, so you can get even bigger vapor clouds! Take a look!

Manufacturing Quality

This is the second category this unit absolutely excels in and was something we had to point out in this Arizer Solo Vaporizer Review. The Solo Vaporizer is definitely one of the best manufactured vaporizers. There are many things we like about how the unit is built. First of all the aluminum casing not only looks great, but it makes this vaporizers extremely durable. The heating element is made of ceramic and perfectly complements the stainless steel heating chamber, allowing for one of the most consistent heating mechanisms for any vaporizer. Last but not least is the compound material that covers the heating chamber and insulates heat perfectly. This allows the Arizer Solo vaporizer to maintain a constant heat output without using too much battery as very little heat is lost. This vape clearly deserves its great score of 9.5/10 in this category.

Temperature Flexibility

Arizer has 7 temperature settings. The most commonly used setting for this unit is between level 3-7. Level three is 190 degrees while level 7 is 210 degrees. The unit takes 1 minute and 35 seconds to heat up to level three. What we like about this Portable Vaporizer is that the heating mechanism is very reliable and extremely consistent. Furthermore, it is also very easy to use. Although a digital display would be nice to get even more exact temperature readings, the Solo still manages to get a great score of 8/10.

Portability

There is one downside to the Solo Vaporizer: its portability. Even though the body of the unit is small and easily fits in your pocket, the glass drawing stem make this unit a little less portable. However, some people argue that the glass drawing stems are required to maintain that crisp and pure flavor the unit produces. After all, glass is one of the purest materials one can choose and with a vaporizer. Despite this slight inconvenience the Arizer Solo still ranks in the green for portability, with a solid score of 8/10. If you want to enhance portability of this unit, a Case would be a wise investment.

Discreetness

The Solo basically looks like any electronic handheld device and given its small size, the unit is quite discreet. What’s also nice about it is that you can turn off the sound, which can make for virtually silent operation. The only drawback in this category is the glass drawing stem, simply because it sticks out of the unit. Given this drawback, it still does a good job and gets a 7.5/10 in this category. If you want to enhance discreetness of this unit, a case would be a wise investment.

Overall Experience

If you are looking for a Portable Vaporizer and your top priority is vapor quality and manufacturing quality, the Arizer Solo will definitely be the best unit for you. Although the unit is not the most portable and one does have to be careful with the glass drawing stems, the pristine vapor easily makes up for this shortfall. In short, the Solo is right up there with the best Portable Vaporizers in the world and therefore deserves an awesome overall score of 8.4/10.

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

  1. Soo true… I got a Solo based on this and now that its here it’s great. The vapor quality is great … I’m never smoking again.

    • Unfortunately part of the strength of the Solo is the clear taste/flavor you get from a glass aroma tube. It is very difficult to make electonics that have glass parts. Arizer did a good job on that front.

There is another brand that makes wooden drawing stem, but becuase the airflow is too high with those tubes the vapor looses density :(.

hope that answers you question :)

    • Arizer now offers a high quality wooden stem, complete with a screen. Apparently they are even going to get a dark black wood stem just to match their black model! :) These wooden stems from Arizer appear to be getting very positive reviews. I just got my Solo in the mail this morning, excited to try it out, and happy for a healthier, more efficient alternative.

    • We tested the wooden draw stems. They are a good idea, but unfortunately the airflow is too much with those stems (arizer doesnt manufacture them). Since the airflow is to high, the vapor is much thinner and not nearly as nice as the vapor that you would get through the glass draw stem. We thought that it wouldn’t add to the experience, especially since none of us here at TorontoV saw ourselves using it on a continuous basis. Since it is expensive and it is not something that adds functionality or user experience we decided not to include it in our review or in the online store.

We will test it again if the manufacturer of the wooden draw stem calibrates the airflow of the draw stem more acurately.

the vapor is the key advantage of the Solo (by far the best among portables), the wooden draw stem reduces the Vapor Quality of the Solo. :(

  2. Wow..my solo has arrived! I love the compact, yet not too small…it works great once you figure out how to not over draw and have a coughing fit! We like to vaporize at 5, then turn it down to 4 once it gets going good, then finish at 6. It is a great unit!

    • Like most vapes, the odour generated from the Arizer Solo is very low. Unlike smoke, vapour doesn’t stick to surfaces and the brief smell that is emitted from a vape has been said to smell like burnt popcorn. This smell lasts less than 30 minutes, making vaporizing a fantastic alternative when it comes to odours!

  3. Hi is the charger for the Solo 12 volt output or 9 volt output, I have one of each (look the same) don’t want to plug in the wrong one.

  4. Hi. We almost decided on the Solo-the price and everything else seem to be right, but then you mentioned the new mystery vapour coming out- so was wondering whether to wait. Although you can’t mention much, is the price and portability going to be in the same ball park or would you recommend going ahead with the Solo. ;)

    • Haha yes the mystery portable is certainly starting to create a lot of buzz, especially now that we’re approaching the end of the year! Unfortunately we’re not able to reveal much about this vape as it is HIGHLY confidential! But, what we can say is it’s going to be pretty, pretty crazy! However, the Solo is the “Volcano of Portables” and to be perfectly frank, it’s going to be hard to knock the Solo off that pedestal. So, it would not be at all a mistake going ahead with the Solo. We at TorontoV personally recommend it, as it is one of the best, and you will be VERY satisfied with it ;).

  5. I had purchased a solo about 2 years back and it’s been great! The biggest drawback that I found was that my glass mouth piece would started to get loose over a year or so. Making it much easier for that glass mouth piece to fall out. Do you know if the recent models have that issue as well or did they improve the fitting of the mouth piece?

    • It is true that the older Solo models had slightly tighter chambers, whereby the draw stem wouldn’t have any wiggle room at all. The looser chamber is actually a design improvement in the new model of the Solo, a specific design change Arizer made to improve airflow and thus directly improve vapour quality. So, if yours has loosened over time, that is actually a good thing!

  6. Hi in my country the official partner of Arizer don’t have the new 2014 Solo only 2013 M1A .If i don’t mine the issue of the vap while charging, exist another important improvement to get me away from this older version?

    • Hey Alberto!
You’ve got your eye on a great portable vaporizer! The Arizer Solo is a fantastic choice :). To be quite frank that is the major difference between these two models: the fact that now the charger allows you to also charge and use the unit at the same time (before you’d need the power adapter to use the Solo while it was plugged in). If it is the only version available and you are ok with getting the power adapter to perform that function (if you want that), definitely buy the Solo! You won’t regret it :). It is still one of our top selling portable vaporizers here at TorontoVaporizer! :)

  7. hello I have a vaporizer and arizer only gives me charge fail and you replace battery failure continues
I connect it to the charger and remove allegedly charging but the charger and try to use it gives me load failure could say it is because
I have the ace one year aprocsimadamente dede
I look forward to your reply
    greetings and thanks

pd if it was not here that should address agradeceria inform me the right direction

  8. what is the difference between the solo and air; I am just new to this and deciding which I should buy.

    • Good Question Suzane! The short answer is that because the Air is manufactured by Arizer, the same manufacturer as the Solo, the Air is very similar to the Solo, but just in a smaller, slimmer and more compact size. If you’re deciding which one is best for you, I would recommend checking out this ‘Showdown’ blog post where we compare the Air and the Solo side by side: http://torontovaporizer.ca/blog/arizer-air-versus-arizer-solo-vaporizer/. It will give you a very comprehensive breakdown of how the units stack up to each other in terms of vapor quality, manufacturing quality, ease of use, portability, discreetness, battery life and temperature flexibility :) You are also welcome to give us a shout at 1 855 234 8273 ext 1 and a sales rep would be more than happy to help determine which unit would be best for you and your needs!
