Available in legal states, the Dosist is a disposable concentrates pen which makes the entire experience as streamlined as possible. With interchangeable formulas, dead simple operation and impressive results, it seems to be a great pick – or is it? How does it compare to other similar oil pens like the Stiizy or Era? Check out what we have to say about the Dosist and how it performs in this review!
Review: Dosist pen
How it Works
Once you have the pen set up with your chosen cartridge, it’s all an incredibly simple process. Just inhale from the unit until it vibrates to let you know when to stop! Each dose gives 2.25mg without any more.
The company themselves recommends a maximum of three hits every hour, however how much you need can all depend on your own usage habits, tolerance, and desired effects.
The Dosist doesn’t exactly have any temperature flexibility to speak of – it’s all pre-configured.
We’re sure the company has specifically tailored the output power to give the best experience possible from the created formulas.
This little pen is surprising – it delivers smooth, powerful, flavorful draws. It definitely performs like advertised and we don’t have any real complaints. Of course, a full sized wax vaporizer or rig will get you much more powerful results; however, they don’t have the convenience this little unit has.
A lot of the flavor greatly depends on the blend that you choose. There are different ratios, flavor profiles, etc. There are blends for a wide variety of uses, so the options are quite broad! Overall though, the Dosist performs quite well and we have no complaints out of it – especially for the size!
For lack of a better comparison, the Dosist looks a bit like a pregnancy test combined with a whiteboard marker. That doesn’t mean it’s bad by any means. In fact, the whole unit feels very sturdy and well made. It delivers great results and works flawlessly every time.
We particularly like their battery recycling program. With each empty unit that’s returned, you’ll get $5 credit towards your next purchase. This is also really nice to see since li-ion batteries are hugely damaging to the environment when disposed of improperly and it’s a good step forwards.
The battery is meant to last for around 200 doses, or 4 whole refills. This isn’t bad at all, however for most people, that won’t last very long at all.
It is what it is – a disposable vape battery. It isn’t rechargeable like some other disposable cartomizer systems.
With its tiny form factor, it makes a great travel companion. It slips well into the pocket and takes up a negligible amount of space. It’s spill-proof too and won’t leak into your pocket.
Ease of Use
The Dosist hits the simple to use category right on the button. Being able to precisely dose the exact amount that you want with a simple yet intuitive feedback system makes it hands down the easiest device we’ve ever tried.
For medical patients or very casual consumers, there’s really not much that’s as easy as the Dosist to use. Cleaning is also not required as it’s a disposable system.
As it’s so tiny and appears slightly like a whiteboard marker, taking a quick hit and putting it away again takes no time at all. As they’re only available in legal states, stealth isn’t really a factor to consider anyways.
We really like the Dosist for a variety of reasons. The flavor is on point and it just works as intended. With that being said, the price is extremely high for what you really get. For the majority of casual consumers and those who aren’t too adept at technology, the Dosist will be fine.
For more serious enthusiasts who like modifying or more versatility, it’s much better to look elsewhere. Not because the performance of the Dosist is bad at all, but since it’s so extremely expensive compared to other options, you’ll be much better off with a different device.
