The Hidr8 Ola is a straightforward Vapor Cup made by a Chinese company that started making some of the first Vapor Cups in the market. It all started with the below Vaporizer, which made some noise, but then abruptly disappeared from the market before having multiple other brands with similar technology take its place. 

Today the Vapor Cup category is becoming increasingly popular by the day. The Ola can vaporize solid concentrates but is also compatible with 510-threaded cartridges, which people love.

How it works

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer includes convenient features that make the operation straightforward thanks to its single-button operation.

To get your session started, follow the steps:

1. Turn On: Click the main button 5 times rapidly.
2. Choose Voltage: Use the voltage adjustment button to select your preferred voltage level. The LED light in the middle of the Vapor Cup’s base will display the chosen voltage with a specific color.
3. Load your material: Add your wax to the heating chamber or screw in your 510-thread cartridge.
4. To Start Producing Vapor: Manually hold the touch button to activate the heating element or double touch the button to start the auto fan, which will engage the element for 30 seconds.
5. To Stop Vapor Production: Once you’ve achieved the desired amount of vapor, simply let go of the button or wait for 30 seconds of auto fan time.
6. Take a sip: Bring the cup to your mouth and tip it like you would with any drinkable liquid.

Temperature Flexibility

The temperature settings allow you to customize your experience according to your preference and the type of wax you are using. 

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer offers four voltage settings ranging from 2.5v to 4.0v, which are indicated by a LED located under the glass cup. We really like the placement of the LED as it also lights up the vapor, which makes it extra delicious from a visual perspective. 

The Ola’s different colors represent voltage settings:

• Yellow = 2.5v
• Blue = 3.0v
• Green = 3.5v
• Red = 4.0v

The Hidr8 Ola is pretty standard when it comes to its temperature variety. That being said, it provides the same settings as the Zenco Duo Vapor Cup for a cheaper price.

The different settings affect the flavor and density of your vapor. Generally speaking, lower settings produce more flavorful but less dense vapor, and higher settings produce higher amounts of vapor with less overall flavor quality. 

Vapor Quality

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer produces decently smooth and flavorful vapor. The device features a triple quartz coil heating element that heats up your material efficiently and instantly. This Heating element is the standard Heating element as you see on all other devices

A Ceramic Chamber would have been slightly better in terms of overall vapor quality output but not as good as the  Tronian Omegatron, which features a Glass Core Heating Element. That being said, the Triple quartz is good enough for beginners.

This Vapor Cup does not feature water filtration for users that want smoother vapor. Although this does not seem like a drawback since the idea of drinkable vapor is quite different when it comes to water filtration. To put in perspective, It’s not nearly as smooth as an E Rig in terms of quality, and your Cup will not fill up with Vapor the same as a standard Vapor Cup will. In general terms, the added smoothness of your vapor will also make your vapor lighter and easier to dissipate into the air, making users treat it more like a hit instead of a drink. If you’re looking for a bubbler, the Pulsar Sipper might be a better option. Alternatively, you can go for the Utillian 5 with a bubbler for extra portability or the U8 for the best possible vapor.

Manufacturing Quality

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer is made of decently durable and lightweight materials that make it simple to carry around and use. The device features a sleek design that looks nice on any table or desk.

However, when comparing this device to others, the external design, materials used, and general styling are the main things to consider. The Hidr8 Ola is one of the lower-end units regarding the quality of materials used but is also priced attractively as a result.

The device does not feel as sturdy or premium as something like an E Rig would. This is due to the fact that E Rigs have been around for much longer, giving manufacturers a chance to tweak and improve upon their products. An example of this would be the Utillian 8 E Rig which features a 3D heating chamber that will just outperform any Vapor Cup in terms of quality, but that being said, the Vapor Cups have a whole different appeal. The concept of drinking vapor really gets people excited and since they are a recent innovation, they are not as refined just yet. 

In general, the Hidr8 Ola does not feature the highest quality build in the category, yet it is a good option for budget-conscious consumers that want a drinkable vapor experience at a decent price.

Battery Life

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer features a rechargeable battery system with an integrated 1600 mAh battery. This battery capacity is enough to last for a decent number of sessions, but compared to other Vapor Cups is on the lower end. 

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer has a lower battery capacity than other devices in its category. In contrast, the Tronian Omegatron Vapor Cup boasts one of the highest battery capacities in the market, with 3150mAh.

To slightly enhance its energy efficiency, the Hidr8 Ola vaporizer incorporates an automatic shut-off feature. After a ten-minute period of inactivity, the device will power off, helping to conserve battery for future sessions.

In terms of recharging, the Hidr8 Ola vaporizer adopts the use of a USB-C cable, a notable upgrade from the slower, less efficient micro-USB counterpart. This provides a faster, more streamlined charging process that aligns with today’s standards.

Ease of Use

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer is a simple device that anyone can use without much hassle once they get over the learning curve. The device is controlled by a single-touch button that turns on the device, cycles through the voltage settings, and activates the auto fan feature. The single button controls all functions of the device with no accurate haptic feedback system. In the dark, you will be looking for the button as you can’t feel or see it unless you have Spiderman senses. This can lead to confusion when first interacting with the unit.    

The Hidr8 Ola features an instant heat-up time, as most Vapor Cups do. The device is simple to clean. The heating element can be soaked in alcohol for a few minutes, while the glass piece is dishwasher safe. 

Overall, using and maintaining the device becomes easy to use when you understand how it works. The LED interface will provide feedback to display your current settings, making it simple enough for beginners.  

Overall Experience

The Hidr8 Ola vaporizer is a satisfying device and super easy to figure out. It provides smooth and flavorful vapor from solid concentrates, as well as 510-threaded cartridges. Being a Vapor Cup, it allows you to sip on your vapor at your own pace, as it stays in the glass cup without dissipating. It also features an instant heat-up time, four voltage settings, an auto fan feature, and an auto shut-off feature. 

The device is also easy to clean and maintain, as well as somewhat travel-friendly. However, the device features some drawbacks, such as the low quality of materials used, the fragility of the glass cup, and its lack of discreteness may not suit everyone. Those who prefer a more portable, on-the-go unit like a Wax Pen, should be following that link, but the appeal of having a cup full of vapor is just something other devices don’t have.
