Bo One vs Pax Juul
When comparing the Juul and the Bo One side by side, you’d be hard-pressed to spot any major differences at a glance. Both devices share the same overall size and form factor which have slowly become a mainstay in the electronic cigarette industry thanks to its portability and great hand feel. Both devices are expertly crafted out of a high-grade aluminum alloy, greatly enhancing how the devices feel when held in hand.
There are small and subtle differences though, the Juul has a battery capacity of 200mah, while the Bo One has 380mah, almost double the capacity of the Juul. This means that the Bo One will last you longer throughout the day and will need to be charged less than the Juul. This is a pretty massive difference, we are talking almost double the battery life.
Next is the size of the pods themselves, the Juul pods have a .7ml capacity, while the Bo One has a 1.4ml capacity. Once again the Bo One offers double the capacity of e-juice per pod. If you break down the cost of the pods themselves, Bo is the more economical system and won’t have you swapping your pods as quickly, another huge plus of the Bo One over the Juul.
Both the Bo One and Juul use a completely button-less design, instead relying on an air activated sensor that automatically fires up the devices when inhaling from the mouthpiece. Another point of similarity is the plug-and-play pod systems these devices use. Simply snap in a pod of your preferred flavor and start puffing. The difference comes in when judging these two devices by their fit and finish; the pods used by the Bo One have an easier time snapping in and out, while the Juul requires a bit more force when the time comes to replace a pod.
While the Juul brought pod vapes into the forefront, it looks like Bo One has worked to perfect the formula. Let’s not also forget the fact that the Bo One comes in a wide variety of both minimalist and colorful colorways that should give potential buyers a bit more freedom when it comes to choosing a device that speaks to their tastes.
Both Bo One and the Juul use their own versions of a proprietary closed pod system. What this means is that you won’t be able to use your own e-liquid options when vaping with either of these devices. However, the juices within these pod systems are designed specifically with the systems in mind and will produce an extremely easy and satisfying session, as opposed to wondering if your open pod system will work better with 50/50 ratio or 70/30.
The Juul tends to be a bit limited when it comes to flavor offerings only offering a handful like classic tobacco, fruit, and pasty. Bo, on the other hand, is working with a variety of already established e-juice companies to provide pods filled with fan favorites. The Jücee e-juice line is a perfect example offering a wide range of unique flavors exclusively for the Bo.
The Bo One also has the has the Juul beat when it comes to overall flavor output and delivery. We found the flavors come through much better on the Bo pods than the Juul pods and produce more satisfying vapor.
Another point of consideration is the concentration levels that these two devices have to offer. The Juul offers their pods in a straight up 50mg/ml nic salt solution. While this means that it’s going to take a lot fewer puffs to get your fix with the Juul, the Bo One allows for a more relaxed vaping experience with their 20mg/ml & 40mg/ml nic salt solution in comparison. (Recently the Juul has released a 30mg/ml offering, but it doesn’t extend to their entire flavor line, limited to only their tobacco and mint flavors). And as we mentioned, the Bo One also comes out on top in terms of bang for buck, as each Bo One pod holds 1.4ml of e-liquid, more than double the 0.7ml capacity of the Juul pod so if you like to see your dollars last longer, the Bo One is the way to go.
Both devices vape at a fixed output without any of the fancy features seen in bigger and more modern electronic cigarettes. This means that you won’t be getting anything close to variable wattage or a customizable temperature control with either of these two.
Where the Bo One comes out on top, however, is its inclusion of an anti-dry hit system that automatically tapers down the output of the device when the coil comes close to drying out. This is a huge improvement over the Juul where dry hits are an occasional occurrence, especially when taking multiple long hits in succession.
The Juul is a bit smaller than the Bo One, but the differences are too marginal to make any real difference in a real life vaping scenario.
Choosing the Juul over the Bo One for its smaller size really doesn’t make any sense in this case especially seeing as the Bo One holds almost twice the battery capacity as the Juul.
The Juul’s battery is rated at only 200mAh, while the Bo One’s is rated at 380mAh, making it a much stronger option for vapers who are always on the move.
The Juul was truly exceptional back at the time of its release as it served as a pioneer for all the similar devices we have today. Unfortunately, not much has been done to improve on the overall performance of the device since its launch.
The Bo One, on the other hand, is a much newer device and is a remarkably big improvement over the experience you get when vaping on the Juul. Not only is the flavor output a lot stronger, but the larger and longer-lasting battery outstrips the Juul in pretty much every way possible.
While either of these two devices are great ways to get your vape on without any of the added bulk and hassle associated with box mods, the Bo One is simply a better choice in almost every regard.
