Updated: February 19, 2018

In 2014 Oxford dictionary made ‘Vape’ the word of the year due to a spike in popularity in e-cigarette. Since then vape and e-cigarette culture has exploded offering hundreds of different units and thousands of brands of e-liquid.

Each one of the vapes and e-cigs we evaluate are used thoroughly by our review team, to ensure our ranking is as accurate as possible. It is hard work, LOL. The ratings are refined as post-purchase customer feedback comes in through reviews and emails. The rating criteria themselves have been refined over the years and are the most consistent. Be sure to check out our Vape Buyers Guide which breaks down what to consider when purchasing your first vape. Also be sure to check out our Portable Vaporizer Rankings and Desktop Vaporizer Rankings.

Smok Mag Kit Review

8.4
Score

Smok Mag

This is a flashy and unique vape which is something we’d like to see more of in the coming years. Mod boxes and pens are all well and good but Smok is breaking the metaphorical and actual mold with the Mag. We assume the name comes from the fact that it is styled like a gun which definitely looks cool. It’s not all bark and no bite, though, the Mag performs extremely well producing dense and rich clouds thanks to a Big Baby Beast tank.

SMOK Majesty Review

8.3
Score

Smok Majesty

Smok’s new entry is a pretty standard box mod that uses 18650 batteries. That means it’s well made, produces tasty vapor, has great flexibility and runs for a decent amount of time before needing to be recharged like most of Smok’s range. However, this offering differs by giving its users a completely revamped user interface, specifically with the buttons and screen being on the thick side of the box as opposed to the thinner edge. Not a bad vape at all.

SMOK veneno kit review

7.8
Score

SMOK Veneno

Despite the fact that I get a headache looking at the range of bright colors that this vape comes in, it’s another good offering from the vaporizer player Smok. A great temperature range backed up by a Big Baby Light tank ensures satisfaction for the ardent cloud chasers among us but will not be too much for those who like to ride low too. The LED screen features seven different colors which look great and hi-tech even if it’s completely self-explanatory and intuitive to use. This is a solid vape with endless opportunities to mix and match thanks to Smok’s large line of products.

Joyetech Espion Review

7.8
Score

Joyetech Espion

This device will break all pre-conceptions that you may hold about Joyetech being for casual vapers. It looks industrial. It feels industrial and it delivers the kind of vapor that you would expect from a device that looks like a bodybuilder on steroids. Coming in three different colors and with a clearly-read LED screen, the Espion offers its user great temperature flexibility and an output of 200 watts.

Aspire Speeder Review

7.8
Score

Aspire Speeder

This vaporizer will not break the industry, it will not break the bank either. In fact, it is nothing revolutionary at all. It is, however, a vaporizer that does its job spectacularly well. The Aspire Speeder should be considered industry standard at this point, at least in its price range. A dual-coil machine that’s very well made and with an Athos chamber that, together, deliver exceptional temperature flexibility and vapor quality. The Aspire Speeder outruns the competition.

Aspire Gusto Mini Review

7.5
Score

Aspire Gusto Mini

Aspire has brought to the table a perfectly acceptable eCig vaporizer that – if anything – could use just a little more gusto (excuse the pun). This is a simple device with only one button and a status LED. The Gusto uses pre-filled pods made by Element e-Liquids which are normally pretty tasty and the cloud size is ok for such a small vape. The addition of some power flexibility might see this unit get bumped up a step or two.

Eleaf iKonn Total

V2 Pro is a huge company in the ecig/vape industry and has just recently made some advancement towards the vaporizing industry. The 7 Series is quite unique in that it comes with one herb and one e-juices compatible heating chamber that are both removable. This means that maintenance over time is less of a hassle as one can just buy a new heating chamber after a few months. Joyetech Cuboid Lite with Book

7.2
Score

Joyetech Cuboid Lite

A smaller, lightweight version of its sibling, the Joyetech Cuboid Pro, this box mod retains many of the great features we saw before at a fraction of the size. Whilst it’s not quite as amazing at the Pro, the Lite does a great job of providing balance between flavor and vapor density with the help of an Exceed chamber. The main draw for us was the aesthetic of the vape – it looks modern, cool and overall attractive.

Aspire Plato Review

7.2
Score

Atopack dolphin review

7.1
Score

Atopack Dolphin

Not that bad if you’re searching for a vape around the $20 mark and want something out of the ordinary. This ‘dolphin’ shaped device (weirdest shaped dolphin we’ve ever seen) is a surprisingly durable little vape mod that comes in a few different colors. You’ll be sure to draw questionable looks as – even though this is portable – it looks a little strange. Aside from that it’s very easy to use, tasty and the clouds are awesome.

Vaporesso Tarot Nano Review

7.1
Score

Vaporesso Tarot Nano

The mod is very powerful and comes equipped with an OLED display unit and internal battery that offers various output modes. It has a top floor design along with the option to fill the tank from the top. The cloud production is very good and you can easily get started without any problems. Score

Kanger Pangu

The Kanger Pangu is a great starting point for those looking to make the switch to vaping. It is very simple to use featuring only one button and a top fill tank system. Coil changing with the Pangu is a breeze and you can even swap coils while the tank is still filled. So if you are just starting out and want something simple this unit is a good jumping on point.

Smok Priv One Review

7.1
Score

Smok Priv One

Don’t be fooled into thinking this was a lighter like we were. The Smok Priv One is the tiniest eLiquid vaporizer we’ve seen with an equally tiny price tag of around twenty dollars. This eye -catching (and easily lost down the back of the couch) vape comes in a variety of stunning, trippy designs which are sure to raise eyebrows and it works too! It’s nowhere near amazing but considering the size – it vapes pretty well! Great for moments where discretion is prudent.

Vaptio N1 Pro Review

7.1
Score

Vaptio N1 Pro

This is a very cool looking vape that utilizes a wonderfully bright and crisp, colorful display culminating to an overall attractive device. It comes with three combinable batteries adding a layer of flexibility we don’t often see in vaporizers. That being said you’ll probably just be using all three of the batteries much of the time due to the fact that this device isn’t really portable and won’t be going in your pocket. Great for experienced users who need something for the home but perfectly pickupable for new users too, thanks to an intuitive control system.

7.0
Score

Joyetech eGo One CT

The Joyetech eGo One CT is a pen-style vape that is geared towards new comers with its simplicity. The eGo Mini tank provides users with satisfying and flavorful clouds which is impressive for such a small unit. It features a 1100mah battery to keep this baby ready to rock all day.

7.0
Score

V2 EX Starter Kit

The V2 EX starter kit is a very slim pen-style vape that is extremely easy to use. It does not have any buttons and actually begins producing vapor as you start you draw. If you are hesistant that vapes are for you this may be a good starting point, it is a slight step up to the disposable e-cigs you can get at a gas station but will perform much better.

E-Leaf iCare 2 Review

7.0
Score

Eleaf iCare 2

It has a smooth exterior due to the rubber paint finish. Some of the excellent features of this unit include It has a tank capacity of 2 ML that can be easily removed for refilling. It is available in different colors and comes in a compact design that is very easy to carry in your pocket.

Innokin Pocketmod Review

7.0
Score

Innokin Pocketmod

This vaporizer looks oddly like a tube of mascara or some other cosmetic but don’t let that put you off. Innokin has pulled a solid vaporizers out of the bag which is designed for new users or those who are not every day vapers. With a 2000 mAh battery and two coils — one for mouth-to-lung vaping and one for direct lung — this is a fairly flexible device too.

Kanger spider kit review

7.0
Score

Kanger Spider

This is a decent vaporizer that we would not recommend for a veteran. Kanger likes to try out cool features on their devices but the spinning dial they threw together for this unit is a little too small and awkward for anyone really – you can’t use it with one hand. This particular vape is in keeping with others from the brand and offers users a fair amount of flexibility with tanks. Not bad.

Vaporesso Aurora Review

6.9
Score

Vaporesso Aurora

If you love the Zippo style lighters, then the Vaporesso Aurora’s design and looks is sure to impress you. The best part about this unit is the classic Zippo style design with attractive looking curvy mouthpiece. There is a USB charging port that can also be used for firmware upgrading. The e-fuel is bottom filled and it features CCELL coil to retain flavor and taste of e-juice. The tank capacity is 1.2 ml and has a no leak design. It also features short circuit protection, overcharge protection, overheating protection and cut off after 10 seconds of inhalation.

E-Leaf Invoke Review

6.9
Score

Eleaf Invoke

This dinky box comes with a 18650 mod that allows big clouds and portability at the same time. Most Eleaf products come in a range of cool colors and this follows suit so you can really match your vape to your style. Thanks to a wide variety of coils, atomizers and airflow adjustability, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this $54 unit

Vaporesso Veco Solo Review

6.9
Score

Vaporesso Veco Solo

Vaporesso has produced a solid starter kit that comes with a band of fun colors allowing you to personalize the aesthetic of your new eCig as you like. The price is more than reasonable for a well-made vaporizer that does the job, even if there is very little flexibility. Its portability ensures easy transportation which is always a big plus and really the biggest let down is its short battery life – but that’s nothing out of the ordinary with vape pens!

6.8
Score

SMOK Stick AIO

The SMOK Stick AIO is a compact and attractive looking pen style kit that is suited for both beginners as well as seasoned vapers. The unit comes with a dual coil atomizer for better airflow and great clouds. It has an inbuilt 1600mAh battery to last for a day. There is also a built-in 2ml e-liquid tank that is top filled. This device comes with short circuit protection and 8 seconds cut off.

iStick Kiya Vape review

6.8
Score

iStick Kiya

Another dainty, ultra-portable and colorful box mod from Eleaf, the iStick Kiya features a striking blue LED display that allows for lots of easy navigation around the device. Unfortunately, no Eleaf tank but that’s forgivable as the vaporizer produces more-than-reasonable density and flavour. Plus if you own an Eleaf tank – you can whack it on easily and access a whole new level of flexibility. Perhaps not for hardened vapers but there is definitely a market for this sort of box mod.

6.8
Score

Joyetech CUBOID Tap

If you like to tap the switch to gain control of the vaporing device panel, then Joyetech CUBOID Tap is a good option. The buttons have been removed and replaced with TAPTEC technology. The main feature of this device is the TAPTECH chipset that needs a simple touch of the panel to control the vaporizer. The battery offered is dual 18650mAh cells to offer ultra-power of 228W. The unit’s screen is 1.3-inch OLED screen with real time display.

Innokin EZ Watt Review

6.8
Score

Innokin EZ Watt

Although Innokins EZ Watt is clearly targeted toward new quitter, this device could have brought a little more to the table. It is a budget box mod that allows the user to change the wattage easily and produces perfectly average vape. The problem is, it doesn’t really know what it is; the vaporizer is designed for mouth-to-lung vaping, however, the chamber is much to open to be a genuine MTL experience. This makes taking hits a thoroughly awkward experience.

Kanger Vola Review

6.7
Score

Kanger Vola

Kanger puts out good vaporizers. They don’t do it often but when they do — they’re usually of a high grade and make a ripple on the vaping scene. This is no different with the Vola which is a powerful mod that is built to a notable degree of quality with ease-of-use in mind. The only thing that lets this device down is the painfully disappointing 2000MAh battery that does not allow it to run for a long time at all.

Joyetech Exceed Box Review

6.7
Score

Joyetech Exceed Box

Joyetech very rarely (if ever), releases poor quality devices and they never seem to stop tweaking their most popular box mods. The Exceed Box is no different and it’s quite hard to fault them for anything. They’ve provided a cool looking unit with a more-than-satisfactory build quality and pretty tasty vapor too! We think every casual/moderate vaper will enjoy this but those veterans might want something a little more hard-hitting.

Joyetech has really produced something quite out of the ordinary here. We say that because for the price, you get a lot more vaping adjustability than any other similarly priced unit on the market. Although there are no temperature settings, there are two different power modes and you can change the coil to adapt to direct-to-lung or mouth-to-lung vaping – great news for those making the switch! Add to the equation a solid build and design, plus a size that slips easily into any pocket and we have a really suitable starter pen.

Eleaf iStick Melo

This elegant box mod from Eleaf comes in five different soft colors. Its simple design defies current outlandish vaporizer trends and it’s got a lot to offer too. The iStick Melo comes with two coils in the box and you can fit more. We are a little bit disappointed by the fact you are restricted to atomizers of up to 22mm but it’s really not the end of the world as what iStick Melo can do — it does well!

The Mod operates with a single button and has 4 colors LED that will help you to check the status of the battery. Eleaf iStick Basal Review

Score

Eleaf iStick Basal

This is a gorgeous, elegant and classy vaporizer – but it’s not a stick. Don’t be fooled by the name, this is a solid box mod that looks cool and doesn’t lag behind the competition. Unfortunately, due to the sub-ohm vaping that it has to offer, this is way better suited for those moving to vaporizers. It’s not that it does a bad job, it’s simply that this does a significantly better job at mouth-to-lung vaping.

Aspire K4 Review

6.4
Score

Aspire K4

The Aspire K4 is a reasonably priced stick vape that can be enjoyed by users of all levels. Its easy one-button system means it’s pretty intuitive and the addition of adjustable airflow allows you to get the resistance you want every time; this will be popular with those who have just made the switch to eCigs and want that mouth-to-lung hit. Aside from that, the flavor is great and the clouds are nothing to write home about. A solid vaporizer for the price.

Joyetech CuBox AIO Review

6.3
Score

Joyetech CuBox AIO

The CuBox is a device designed for those who enjoy mouth-to-lung vaping in mind. At its core, this is a starter kit that would be best utilized by those who have recently made the switch or those who enjoy maximum flavor with minimum vapor. The two coils are hardy and will last for a long time but are restricted to allow only mouth-to-lung hits. Taking that factor out of the equation, there’s not much to complain about at 29 bucks.

SMOK Stick M17 Review

6.3
Score

SMOK Stick M17

The Stick M17 is nothing more than a basic stick vaporizer with very little to offer apart from a decent, unspectacular experience. For a vape that you can get for this price it is by no means bad, in fact it does the trick and the vapor is fine however a distinct lack of power settings and airflow control leave a little more to be desired. There are two areas, however, where the Smok Stick M17 excels however and those are ease-of-use and portability.

Joyetech Ekee Review

6.2
Score

Joyetech EKEE

Joyetech pinched this particularly ergonomic design from the well known car manufacturer BMW. But they didn’t just steal the design, they’ve obviously gone full throttle and copied it at an almost 1:1 ratio. That’s not a bad thing, it’s comfortable in the hand and well made bar one obvious flaw – the paint chips and fades very easily. As a vape, it holds its own against the others in this class producing acceptable flavor and density too.

innokin riptide review

6.2
Score

Innokin Riptide

Don’t be fooled by this unassuming little pen, it may look like it’s just another addition to the seemingly unending list of pens flooding the market but hold on. The Innokin Riptide features a huge 4ml Crios tank which will negate the need for frequent pit stops to refill your vape. Add onto that the very surprising, long-lasting battery and this becomes a very viable option as your next vaporizer. Innokin is renown as a maker of future-proof devices with integrity and the Riptide is a solid contender.

E-Leaf iStick Trim Review

6.1
Score

E-Leaf iStick Trim

Let’s get the worst out of the way first. The E-Leaf iStick Trim uses a bottom-fill system which belongs in 2010. Aside from that, this is a great starter vape that offers its users great ease-of-use and variable wattage. For under twenty bucks, that’s not bad at all, if you add onto that the fact that this little device produces great flavor and the bottom fill tank becomes a minor inconvenience at most.

Score

Smok Guardian

The Smok Guardian adds a little flare to the E-Cigarette world with its unique pipe-like style. It is very simple and straight forward to use featuring only a single button. This unit operates like a vape pen so there is no control over the wattage or vapor quality but this is meant to keep things easier for the user. It produces decent sized clouds and provides users with great flavor.

Innokin Endura T20-S Review

5.9
Score

Innokin Endura T20-S

Run. Of. The Mill. Truly, there’s not much to say about the Innokin Endura T20-S. It couldn’t be less innovative if it tried and everything about it is quite standard. It feels okay if not a little basic, even for new users! The only option you have to customize your session with this pen is the choice of eLiquid that you fill the tank with. That being said, we wouldn’t deem this a bad E-Cigarette – simply unoriginal.
