Venty Vs. Mighty Plus: A Head-on Battle for the Best Storz & Bickel Vaporizer

Updated: December 5, 2023

There’s no shortage of new Dry Herb Vaporizers in today’s market. The two we are going to pit against each other today are of the more popular nature. The Mighty Plus and the Venty Vaporizer, both creations of the renowned German manufacturer Storz & Bickel. While similar in some cases, these units are completely different in others.

As always, for those who want a quick glance at the current units at the top of the chain, check out our Best Dry Herb Vaporizer Ranking Page.

In this review, I will compare the Mighty Plus and Venty in terms of performance, features, and, of course, price. Which one is better suited to your needs and preferences? Let’s dive in and figure that out.

Venty VS Mighty Review

Venty VS Mighty Review - Vapor QualityVapor Quality

When we refer to vapor quality, we base this on the overall flavor, density, smoothness, and temperature of the vapor produced. The vapor quality depends on several factors, such as the heating system, the airflow, the cooling unit, and the materials used in the device.

When comparing these devices, both the Venty and the Mighty+ use a hybrid heating system that combines convection and conduction. This results in a fast and efficient extraction of the active ingredients from the herb, as well as a dense and potent vapor. However, the Venty has a slight edge over the Mighty +, thanks to its massive airflow control. The Venty allows you to fine-tune the airflow up to 20 liters per minute, which is the highest on the market. This gives you more control over the resistance in your draws and how the end result of your vapor will come out. The Mighty Plus has a fixed airflow that is optimized for its design, but it doesn’t let you customize it to your preference.

Another factor that affects the vapor quality is the cooling unit. Both the Venty and the Mighty have a patented cooling unit that lowers the temperature of the vapor before it reaches the mouthpiece. This makes the vapor smoother and more pleasant to inhale, especially at higher temperatures. The Venty and the Mighty+ have similar cooling units, but the Venty has a slight advantage since it offers 2 screens to filter and cool the vapor down.

Venty VS Mighty Review - Temperature FlexibilityTemperature Flexibility

Temperature flexibility depends on the device’s range and control as well as its accuracy. In this section, we’ll compare the temperature flexibility of the Venty and the Mighty to see which one offers more customization and versatility.

The Venty and the Mighty both have precise temperature control, but they have different features that allow for different results. They both have the same range of 40°C to 210°C, which is decent, although the max temperature is not the highest on the market. For example, the Tronian Milatron has a temperature range of 160°C to 240°C.

In a general sense, both of these units will get their job done, but the Venty does have a slight advantage. For starters, the Vetny has much more airflow than the Mighty Plus, but where the Venty shines is with its flowmeter, a piece of tech designed to accurately measure the negative pressure in your draws. In lamens terms, it ensures consistent results no matter the intensity you draw in with.

Based on these factors, The Venty and the Mighty are both precise and flexible devices that offer a decent range of temperatures. Clearly, in terms of performance, I give this win to the Venty, especially considering that the prices aren’t that far off. If the Mighty+ was more affordable then I might’ve chosen otherwise.

Manufacturing quality of the Venty Dry Herb VaporizerManufacturing Quality

Another important criterion for choosing a portable vaporizer is its manufacturing quality. This refers to the device’s design, materials, and durability. The manufacturing quality affects the performance, reliability, and longevity of the device, as well as the user experience and satisfaction.

Both these devices are made by the same manufacturer, so they have many similarities. They both use a strong plastic called PEEK that can handle high temperatures. Although this plastic is durable, I personally don’t like it, especially when it’s near where the vapor goes.

When it comes to its overall design, the Mighty and Venty differ in terms of form factor. The Mighty is shorter than the Venty but also much wider. Both units are big and not particularly attractive or comfortably portable. As an example, the Venty is almost two and a half times larger than the Zeus Arc GT3, a premium contender in the Dry Herb Vaporizer market. While they definitely work well, using them as an on-the-go vaporizer is not really recommended.

I think the most important note to mention here is that the Mighty + has an obvious design flaw that reduces its overall durability. Around the heating chamber, there is a small gap that over time, gets filled with gunk and is almost impossible to clean. With the Venty, is would seem that Storz and Bickel did not repeat this mistake.

Based on these factors, The Venty and the Mighty+ are both decently made devices that get the job done. In my honest opinion, this section is where both of these devices have a lot of room for improvement. With that said, I give this point to the Venty since it doesn’t have the obvious flaw in design that the Mighty does.

Venty VS Mighty Review - Battery LifeBattery Life

The Venty and the Mighty both have impressive battery capacities thanks to their dual 18650 Li-Ion batteries. The Venty has a battery capacity of 5940 mAh, while the Mighty Plus has a battery capacity of 6600 mAh. Both of these units claim to work for around 90 minutes of continuous use, which is pretty good.

However, when we get into the nitty-gritty, the Venty’s battery capacities are much more optimized to work with the mini heating chamber. When we take a look at the Mighty+, we notice it needs much more power to heat up the excess space between the chamber and the mouthpiece. For these reasons, the Venty technically has a more efficient battery, even if it has slightly less capacity.

It’s important to note that the Mighty Plus does have passthrough charging, which is a huge factor for those who like to use the units at home. Basically, what this means is that you can use the Mighty+ while it’s plugged into its charger, so even if you are running low, you can just plug it in and continue your session.

The Venty and the Mighty are both great devices with long-lasting batteries. However, the Mighty has a bigger battery and can be used while charging, which is handy for some people. While the Venty is slightly more efficient, they both use USB-C, so I give this overall win to the Mighty +.

Venty VS Mighty Review - PortabilityPortability

Small and compact is the name of the game when it comes to Portable Vaporizers. But the portability of a vaporizer depends on more than just its size. We also need to consider the form factor or shape, weight, and discreetness, as well as any features or accessories that help improve or reduce its portability. While these are both technically Portable Vaporizers, portability is not their strong suit. Both of these devices are considered big and clunky. They don’t fit comfortably in your hands or really even fit in your pocket.

It doesn’t seem like Storz and Bickel prioritized making these units very portable. The Venty appears to prioritize vapor quality and has a design that supports it. On the other hand, the Mighty+ is a more balanced option, initially focused on creating good vapor quality with an emphasis on flavor. None of these focuses allowed for the most compact design.

In general, I wouldn’t suggest these devices to someone who primarily needs a portable vaporizer. If portability matters to you, I recommend the Zeus Arc S. It’s not only much smaller but also designed for ArcPods, making traveling more convenient.

In conclusion, they aren’t the best for portability, but they are still considered portable. The Mighty+ has a slight advantage in this category, so I will give it the win. Not because it’s great; it’s just not as bad.

Venty VS Mighty Review - DiscreetnessDiscreetness

When it comes to using a Portable Vaporizer on the move, some users place extra priority on how much attention their unit garners. This is what we refer to as its discreetness. Generally, the Venty and Mighty models are not discreet. However, some manufacturers have added special features to make their units more discreet, like settings to hide LED lights and sounds.

Storz and Bickel vaporizers are famous for creating strong vapor and producing a lot of it. Because of this, it seems like discreetness wasn’t their main focus. Discreet units are usually smaller and more compact, but the Venty and Mighty+ are larger than typical Dry Herb Vaporizers. This suggests that S&B cared more about vapor production and quality than making their vaporizers easy to carry and inconspicuous.

Venty VS Mighty Review - Ease of UseEase of Use

When it comes down to it, what makes a good everyday vaporizer apart from its overall performance is its general ease of use. The harder a unit is to get to produce results, the less likely you are to want to use it. When it comes to these Storz and Bickel products, they are both pretty similar in operation method, they just present different features.

The Venty has more ways to change how your vapor feels, which might make it a bit more difficult to use at first. However, Storz and Bickel made it easier by adding Bluetooth to the Venty. This lets it connect to a Web App, where you can control it easily and save your favorite settings for later.

The Mighty doesn’t have an app, but it works pretty much the same way that the Venty without the app does. They both have a clear display that shows the temperature and the battery level. They also have two buttons: a plus button and a minus button. These buttons change the temperature in 1-degree increments.

With all of this said, it’s clear that the Venty is easier to use than the Mighty +, but that doesn’t mean that the Mighty is hard to use by any means. Overall, anyone who picks up these devices should be able to figure them out quite quickly, but the win here goes to the Venty.

Venty-VS-Mighty_Review_Overall_ExperienceFinal Thoughts

After taking a much closer look at these Dry Herb Vaporizers, I realized that while similar in many aspects, it’s pretty obvious that Storz and Bickel had different priorities when creating these units. Based on our analysis of various factors and features, we can say that the Venty slightly outperforms the Mighty in terms of overall performance and quality.

With that said, these units were very close in terms of the results in each category we ranked them on. The Venty is the clear overall winner when it comes to the Vapor quality, but the Mighty+ might be a more suitable option for users who want a powerful unit that can be used while charging. The choice is up to you.

For users who prioritize portability and discreetness, I would recommend a more compact unit like the Utillian 722 or even the U620, which is more affordable. Both of these units are more affordable, but they won’t reach the quality of vapor that the Venty has to offer, for example.
