You enjoy the idea of the hookah ritual, but without what usually comes with it, such as dealing with coal, ash, or the super long setup times. The Airvape Enso 2026 Version is a fresh new take on the traditional hookah system by going electric instead. It's also a modular system that is compatible with multiple accessories. These accessories let you adapt your Enso to fit almost any material. The Airvape Enso is truly built to be the centerpiece of your hangout, and is a great choice for those who want a modern take on hookah sessions.

- Airflow: 2026 version has lower air resistance thanks to a larger 1.5m tube and redesigned mouthpiece.
- Top Cap Adjustment: 2026 Version now features a glass top (thermo cap), which provides better flavor.
Prominent Features

Airvape’s goal with the Enso is to give users an alternative to traditional hookah sessions without the hassle or safety concerns of handling coal. Replacing coal with electric heat requires a heating system that can pull enough heat to match it, so the Enso comes equipped with a ceramic hybrid heating system. It combines conduction and convection to keep heat strong but also consistent.
The Enso also comes with a modular glass tank which functions as the water filter that helps cool own your vapor. The newest 2026 update to the Airvape Enso now features a larger hose at 1.5 meters and a redesigned mouthpiece to ensure the vapor is as smooth as possible despite the high heat required to produce it.
It offers more than enough temperature flexibility with just about 34 different settings to choose from. It even comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which lasts more than enough for a few sessions. But, given it's designed for social environments, the battery is also fully removable, allowing users to pick up extras to ensure they are never left without juice.
Overall, the Airvape Enso is a premium, functional, and powerful e-hookah setup that combines unique features into a comprehensive new alternative to traditional hookahs.
How Does the AirVape Enso Shisha Work?

The AirVape Enso Shisha is the type of unit that can work in almost any way you want it to. This is because of the modular design setup that allows it to vaporize various materials. Due to its vast amount of options, it can take some getting used to, and steps will vary depending on what type of session you're looking for. Here is a step-by-step guide to follow for its general setup.
- Charge the Battery: Make sure the battery if fully charged for the first session.
- Prepare Water Tank: Remove the glass water tank from the base and fill it up to where the water indicator is, then reattach it.
- Load your Material: Choose the right cup(for your material) and pack it lightly. Use the poking tool to poke a small hole through the middle.
- Insert the Cup: Remove the Thermocap, insert the packed cup into the heating chamber, and place the Thermocap back on the unit.
- Insert Vapor Hose: Connect the vapor hose by inserting one end into the unit (hose stem).
- Set your Temperature: Set the Thermodial to your chosen setting, then let the unit preheat for up to 5 minutes (8 min max).
- Start your session: Draw slowly through the mouthpiece once heating has finalized.
The material you plan on vaporizing will determine the accessories you need to prepare. Shisha blends go into the included ceramic or disposable cups, either one drops straight into the heating chamber under the Thermocap. For loose-leaf, insert the screen mesh into the bottom of the ceramic cup before filling, up to about 3 grams. If you'd rather use a metal chamber instead of ceramic for loose-leaf, AirVape sells a gold-plated herb cup separately, which holds up to about 1.5 grams and uses the same screen-and-insert setup.
The Airvape Enso also has 3 different heat modes that change how heat is managed. Regular mode runs Enso's own heating algorithm with a 70°C+ boost built into the 5-minute preheat (works well with shisha/herbal molasses). Press the dial three times to switch to G-Mode, which spreads power more evenly through the session to offset the cooling effect of frequent draws(useful for dry herbs). Press the dial five times, and Blue Mode locks the Thermodial in place so the temperature can't be adjusted anymore during the session.
Vapor Quality

When it comes to vapor quality, the Enso comes down to three main components working together. The first is the ceramic hybrid chamber, the second is the water filtration, and the last is the different heating modes. The ceramic hybrid chamber (conduction and convection) does a great job of managing the required power output with consistent heating. The convection side of the heating uses the air pulled through your mouth to heat the material as you inhale.
The different modes allow you to change how a session feels through how heat is applied (not how much heat). Regular mode favors flavorful sessions and shisha/herbal molasses use, mainly because it has a strong heat-up that can burn other materials. G mode works best for concentrates or dry herbs because it doesnt have the initial (more aggressive) preheat, and it maintains heat steadily throughout the session.
Flavor also depends on how well the airflow can move through your material. Loading and packing are much more important for vapor quality with this unit. Shisha tends to settle unevenly, with the liquids (that hold the flavor) sinking to the bottom of the container, so mixing it thoroughly before loading the cup keeps moisture evenly distributed and noticeably improves flavor.
Vapor is much more manageable than the original setup, due to the temperature settings and heat modes. Overall, the Enso Shisha (2026 Version) is a great alternative to regular coal driven hookah setups, and the 2026 update brought welcome changes that make its operation even smoother.
Manufacturing Quality

The AirVape Enso Shisha is designed for long-term reliability and a premium user experience. The device's housing is made of zinc alloy, offering both a durable shell and a polished look. Its glass water tank is designed for easy removal and cleaning, with a thick construction for stability.
When looking at the vapor path, it's built from stainless steel and ceramic components. These materials are chosen for their strength and ability to preserve vapor purity, even during extended sessions. The ceramic chamber is built to withstand high temperatures, while the stainless steel makes the construction more durable. The magnetic hose is now larger than the previous model, which makes the draw smoother because the airflow is a bit more open.
The thermo dial wheel does a good job of keeping operation simple while still offering a ton of customization options. There's also a vegan leather strap, which can make carrying this large unit much easier.
Powering the Enso is a 5,000 mAh removable battery secured with a quick-release latch. Having an extra battery pack with you allows for quick battery swaps. It's charged via USB-C; you can charge the separate battery or the unit itself. The overall design emphasizes both practicality and ease of maintenance, with modular parts that make routine cleaning and upkeep straightforward.
Temperature Flexibility

The Enso Shisha covers a pretty wide temperature range, which is important because of its variety of material compatibility. Its range spans from 180°C to 330°C (356°F to 626°F) via a single-button wheel with 34 settings. As you turn the dial, the adaptive light bar brightens to visualize your heat level. It also features distinct modes to control how heat is applied.
Orange mode (shisha) uses an intelligent heating algorithm that maintains a steady temperature with gentle preheat, ideal for long, flavor-rich sessions.
Green mode (G-mode) offers a more linear heating approach with continuous power delivery, making it suitable for dry herbs and concentrates. Just allow 10–15 seconds between draws to prevent overheating. Last but not least, there is a blue mode that really just acts as a locking mechanism, disabling the thermodial to prevent accidental changes.
Reaching a usable temperature takes a bit of time, which is normal because of the massive amount of heat required for this unit to output strong vapor. In general, heat-up will take around 5 to 8 minutes until it's fully ready to start a session.
Portability & Discreetness

At 2.55kg and roughly 33 x 12cm, the Enso isn't something you're slipping into a bag or pocket. The leather strap on top is there specifically to offset that: it lets you pick the unit up and carry it in one hand like a case rather than needing both hands the way you would with most tabletop hookahs or desktop vaporizers.
What actually makes it portable is that it runs on a removable battery instead of a wall outlet. That means the device can go wherever the session does, a backyard, a friend's place, anywhere you'd normally have to set up a traditional hookah, without needing to be near power. Because the battery pulls out through a quick-release latch, keeping a second one charged and swapping it in extends a day of use well past a single charge, and USB-C pass-through charging means you can top up mid-session without it cutting things off.
Discreetness is a separate question from portability here, and the honest answer is that the Enso isn't built to hide. It's sized and shaped to be the centerpiece of a session, not something you're using quietly on the move. That said, the built-in speaker has a mute/unmute button, so the audio cues that confirm things like mode changes don't have to announce themselves if you'd rather keep things quiet, and feedback otherwise comes through the LED strip rather than sound.
How to Clean AirVape Enso Shisha

Cleaning the Airvape Enso Shisha is essential to ensure it works consistently. In most use cases, the Enso is used in social settings and with larger packed bowls, so the unit gets dirtier more quickly. This is completely normal, but it does require frequent cleaning if you want your vapor to taste as good as possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on the basics of cleaning your Airvape Enso Shisha.
- Let It Cool: Wait until the unit has fully cooled before cleaning or taking the unit apart.
- Load the Cleaning Glove: Insert the multi-tool's metal plate into the wiremesh cleaning glove.
- Scrub the Chamber: Insert the glove into the heating chamber and rotate it to clear residue, then rinse the glove clean with warm water.
- Clean the Vaporhose-Stem: Run the long brush through the vapor shaft with warm water, using an up-and-down motion.
- Rinse the Blowout Valve: Remove it and rinse it with water after each 1–2 uses.
- Clear the Airpaths: Run the short brush in and out of each individual airpath tube.
These are general cleaning steps that you will have to repeat as often as you'd like to keep vapor clean. The chambers can also be cleaned with regular grime wipes or sticks (alcohol infused Q Tips).
Warranty
The AirVape Enso Shisha is backed by a 2-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Ensure you have proof of purchase and adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines, including the use of approved accessories.
