Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Review
Review: Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3
Manufacturing Quality
The manufacturing quality of the entire kit is very good. There are a few things that I would have done differently, which Ill go over, but for the most part, this is a very good combo.
Like I mentioned in the introduction, the big story here is the small size. When you first see this, you probably wont believe that there are three 18650 batteries inside. They really sandwiched a lot inside of this mod to make it possible, but the result is undeniably comfortable in the hand. The actual dimensions are 39.3mm x 48.8mm x 113.7mm. Thats including the tank. Thats less than 4.5 inches tall for the entire kit!
The screen pretty big considering the size and shape. It has an updated interface which makes it easier to use, although it could have been brighter. In response to complaints about other mods, Wismec also made sure that the 510 connection in this isnt going anywhere.
Speaking of the 510 connection, there isnt a whole bunch of clearance on the top of this. The connection isnt centered in the mod, so you cant get any tanks with a 28mm diameter or bigger to fit without overhang. Considering this can fire 300W, I would have like to see the option of using big setups on top. It doesnt seem like it would have been that hard to center the threading, but I guess it may have been hard with how tight everything is inside.
The mod also has upgradeable firmware and a balanced battery charging system. I still highly recommend using an external charger though.
As far as the tank goes, its nothing revolutionary, but it is made well. It has bottom dual airflow adjustments and fills from the top with a convenient sliding action. The capacity is 4ml, and it has a wide bore Delrin drip tip. Two coils are included, one 0.15ohm dual coil and one 0.2ohm triple coil.
Flavor Quality
The GNOME tank puts out very good vapor. It doesnt come anywhere close to using all of the wattage that this can deliver, but the 0.2ohm triple coil can still handle a respectable 130W.
I found that the ideal performance with this coil occurred at significantly lower wattages, but the option is there for people chasing the biggest clouds possible.
I liked vaping it at around 65W, which provided outstand flavor and what I consider to be pretty big clouds. As you increase the wattage from there, the flavor drops off more noticeably than the clouds increase.
The 0.15ohm dual coil also performed very well. I found 50W to be the best balance between flavor and clouds in its case.
Power Flexibility
The power flexibility is excellent. This can deliver up to 300W of power, which is significantly more than most vaporizers. Id say the majority of vaporizers are still single battery units that deliver 75-80W of power or less, then there are the dual 18650 units that can put out 200-230W.
There are other units out there with three batteries or more that can deliver similar performance – but not many.
This also has temperature control modes for nickel, titanium, and stainless steel. The temperature range is 200F to 600F. The minimum resistance is 0.05ohm.
I wouldnt classify this as a beginners vape, but thats more due to the fact that people should know what they are doing before they mess around with wattage this high.Actually using this is very easy, especially with the new interface on the screen. It has a classic three button setup, so if youve used a box mod before, you should have no problem using this.
Portability
The portability is fantastic for a triple 18650 mod. This is the smallest one on the market, meaning you actually cant find anything better in this department without going with less power. If you dont need the power, youd probably be better served with something smaller, although the three batteries also equate to longer battery life.
If you have a place to carry this like a purse or backpack, the long battery life could make this one of the more portable units you own. The battery life will ultimately depend on how high you keep the wattage though.
Overall Experience
The Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 is a very tiny triple 18650 mod.
Its not perfect by any means, but the size alone makes it possibly worth picking up. Again, this is the smallest triple 18650 mod on the market, as far as Im aware. Id be surprised if anyone manages to make one smaller than this too, because there really isnt any space that went unused inside this and the components are all about as small as they come.
If you want lots of power or an extended battery life, youd probably enjoy this very much. Just keep in mind that you cant fit big tanks (28mm+) on top without overhang.
If you want something extremely simple, check out the Kandypens Rubi and if you are looking for a mod style kit to start with we recommend the SMOK Procolor.
