Rosinbomb Rocket Review – An ultra-portable rosin press
While some industrial setups require air compressors and hydraulic jacks, make loud noises and weigh even hundreds of pounds, the Rosinbomb Rocket is the exact opposite of that. Weighing in at a featherweight 13 pounds, the Rocket hardly stands much taller than a wine glass. That in itself is astonishing, but does the rocket lift you up into space, or does it fail to even get off the ground? Check out what we say about the Rosinbomb Rocket in this review!

Review: Rosinbomb Rocket
How it Works
Similar to the Rosinbomb M50 we reviewed, the Rocket is a very no-frills, user-friendly press. To get things going youll first want to power on the device and allow the plates to heat up for ~10 minutes. Adjust your temperature according to the end product you want; higher temperatures will yield more, yet lower quality end product. The opposite is true for lower temperatures. While the plates heat up, nows a good time to load your filter bags with your cannabis!
The user guide suggests using around 5 grams of material, but youll get much better results from half of that. Between 2.5 and 3.5 grams is the best bet if you want to be more efficient with your material.
Rosin should begin to slowly seep out. After around 2 minutes it should be mostly extracted at this point. Hit the RELEASE button, power off the device, and let the rosin cool slightly before collecting. Once you get the hang of things, it should only be around 15-20 minutes from start to finish.
Manufacturing Quality
At the price point, you’d be expecting some high-quality components used, the same you expect from the Zeus Arc GTS Hub. The Rocket mostly covers that aspect, with each piece having been well assembled from quality materials. Though the Rocket doesnt feel frail by any means, the device really makes you think its a bit overpriced based on what is actually in the device.
It presses with an advertised 1500 lbs of pressure on a small 3.2 * 2.8 setup. Though that seems outstanding based on the compact size, I have a hard time believing it presses nearly that amount. From the results and yields generated, Id be surprised if it made 1000 lbs of pressure!
The manufacturer though does include a 1-year warranty on electrical parts and 5-year warranty on structural components which is reassuring, though many people have reported having problems when contacting customer support for servicing of their units.
Ease of Use
With such a small device, using it couldnt be any simpler. Adjusting the temperature, lowering/raising the plates and turning it on is a simple process. Theres nothing complex about this rosin press, and a complete beginner could get the hang of things incredibly quickly. It’s as easy as using the LITL1 just not for vaping.
The only gripe with it is that the plates are so small and it doesnt press that hard, so youre going to be filling bag after bag after bag to really get a substantial amount of rosin. This process becomes tedious in itself after a while.
Performance
With such a low amount of pressure exerted (compared to similar products), youre going to have a hard time squeezing every bit of juice from your buds, especially from higher quantities. The yields you get are definitely going to be of lower amounts than a more powerful press.
With that being said, the rosin that you do get out of it is fantastic! Depending on the heat setting you used to extract your material at, youll get different results, potency and flavour wise.
The Rocket definitely does work and you get good quality rosin, just youre getting a significant amount less out of the bud you crush! If youre a frugal type who likes to get the most out of their material and their vaporizer like the Utillian 722, then the Rocket isnt really up to the task. If you dont mind the lack of efficiency and just want some quality rosin, then sure, the Rocket will do just that!
Overall Experience
If this was a dual piston setup with at least 2000+ lbs of pressure, then itd be a whole other story, but its not. I certainly wouldnt use it if I wanted to crush a lot of material or wanted to get the most out of what I have.
Even in the long run, youll end up saving money with the efficiency of a more powerful press, since with the Rosinbomb Rocket youll wind up using much more product than something else.
The Rosinbomb Rocket does have a few strong points; its incredibly easy with little user setup, you get a pretty good quality rosin, it weighs about as much as a large toaster, and around the size of one too!
Its really convenient in the case of the occasional dabber, but for more serious enthusiasts, youre best off looking elsewhere.
