Smok Resa Stick Kit Review – Noob Tube

Right off the bat, the first thing you might notice is that the Smok Resa Stick features an aesthetic which isn’t exactly geared towards those with conservative tastes. The snakeskin pattern reminiscent of a complex honeycomb design permeates throughout the entirety of the kit, creating a stunning and eye-catching effect regardless of which among the available color options you decide on getting (although the yellow colorway is one I’m rather partial to).

The base of the mod has a diameter of 25mm, which also applies to the diameter of the included Resa Baby tank. The 510 connection is spring loaded and makes a flush and almost seamless between the base of the mod and the tank, without any noticeable gap.

The tank itself though is a bit wider than the mod measuring out to 28mm in diameter, which is what contributes to the Resa Baby’s generous e-liquid capacity. The entire kit stands at a height of 111mm with a total weight of 142.7 grams. While lightweight, the Smok Resa Stick does have a nice heft to it which feels evenly distributed across the mod, so it neither feels top nor bottom heavy.

While the main body of the Smok Resa Stick is constructed out of a sturdy zinc alloy which is typical for most vapes, it’s the Resa Baby tank that sees a bit of deviation from the norm. Instead of the standard stainless steel/Delrin combination which we see in pretty much every tank out there, the Resa Baby goes a step beyond and uses a stainless steel/resin combination which by all means looks and feels great.

It’s nice to see a company like Smok take the small extra step and use resin as a basic component of the tank which is only often seen as an aftermarket upgrade or purchase in the form of custom drip tips.

You won’t find any LED display on this mod, and operation is handled by a single fire button. The fire button is outlined by a small LED ring which serves as the indicator for the device’s status and battery life. A micro USB port is also located on the side of the mod which is used to charge the mod, with some battery venting at the bottom to help keep things cool during charging and usage of the device.

Smok is upping their game this time around with the inclusion of an all-new coil design presented in the form of the V8 Baby Core. The kit comes with a V8 Babe Mesh Core pre-installed and a standard V8 Baby M2 which uses the familiar dual coil design.

What sets the Mesh Core design apart from other standard coil heads is its use of a unique mesh design that covers a wider surface area and heats up more evenly. What this means for you, in the end, is a smoother, more even vape that manages to output a good deal of flavor and vapor in every puff. Users who are interested in 510 thread cartridges for oil often prefer the Vessel 510 thread battery.

Despite its compact form, the Smok Resa Stick still manages to output a good deal of power thanks to the low resistance of the bundled coils resulting in flavorful puffs, but nothing that might feel too intense for beginners.

The dual adjustable airflow ring on the Resa Baby adds a nice touch of adjustability, allowing you to fine-tune the airflow to either a looser and airy puff to a more restricted pull depending on your preference. 

Ease of Use

Operating the Smok Resa Stick is far from complicated. A simple five clicks powers the device and another 5 clicks to power it off. Press and hold the firing button to vape and you’re done.

Recharging the internal battery is simple as plugging the mod into any powered USB source such as a wall outlet or a power bank, so keeping the Smok Resa Stick topped up is no challenge.

Maintenance of the Resa Baby tank is similarly hassle-free. Smok’s standard push-swivel design also makes its way to this tank which allows for easy opening of the top cap and quick e-liquid refills. Swapping out the coil involves unscrewing the base of the tank, and threading off the old coil and threading in a new one.

Make sure to prime the coil with some direct e-liquid application, and after filling up the tank with a fresh coil, let the mod sit for 5 minutes to allow the coil to fully saturate with e-liquid.

In the end, the Smok Resa Stick presents a pretty compelling package. From its stunning looks and compact form to its unique and smooth performance as a result of the new coil design, the Smok Resa Stick is a one-of-a-kind kit at this point and time.
