About Lightly Used - Pax Mini
Pax is known for using conduction heating and being quite decent at it. The Pax Mini is the value version of the Pax Plus, as the Arc S is the value version of the Arc GTS. The Pax Mini is slightly shorter than the Plus and can only vaporize dry cannabis. The smaller form factor is paired with a simpler system with one smart temperature setting instead of many different ones. The Pax Mini does have a cycling feature that moves within a range during a session. Still, the temperature is insufficient for complete extraction, and users may find themselves stirring their cannabis around during their sessions. Controlling the force with which you inhale can minimally impact vapor production. Slower, more controlled hits will ultimately provide the highest temperature this device can reach, estimated to be around 410ºF (210ºC). Overall, the vapor is faint compared to similarly priced units, like the Utillian 620, or similarly portable units like the Millatron. That being said, for users that like micro-dosing or flavor above thickness, this device does not disappoint.

You should get the Pax Mini if…
You are in need of a sleek, entry-level vaporizer that gets the job done without bells and whistles. The Mini is the smallest vaporizer made by Pax and does the job for short vaporizing sessions. Its stainless steel chamber can hold 0.25 grams of dry herb, making this little device easy to carry. The other big advantage to the Pax mini is its much cheaper price than other pax devices, primarily due to the single temperature setting and smaller overall form factor. All in all, the Mini is better suited for users that prioritize simplicity over vapor quality and want a Pax device at a value price. It's also important to mention that this device may be more appealing to those in jurisdictions where compatible Pax Pods are available. Without access to the Pax Pods, which have infused concentrates, the device is mostly geared toward entry-level users.
Sleek, Small & Stylish
This device is only 93 mm tall and will fit in a pocket or bag relatively easily. The Pax Mini has 22 seconds of heating time and a smaller battery size than the Pax Plus. Pax has not released information as to the size of the battery, which we find odd, but judging by the size of the device; we don't believe it to house more than 3500mAh, in the best case. Pax claims that the device can run more than two hours, which was confirmed as correct with continuous use. In the field, it will be more like 90 minutes, but still very good. The Mini's build is similar to that of the Pax plus since it features the signature anodized aluminum finish, making it scratch resistant. The unit's main advantage is the quality look and feel. These advantages help make the Pax Mini a good choice for beginners who really just want a portable, sleek design and a relatively easy-to-use unit.
It is important to mention that the Pax devices have software that is very well refined among dry herb vaporizers. The Pax mini is impressive in the way it uses the motion sensor to preserve battery. We don't really see how any company, given the universal battery energy density vs size restrictions, can make a device that can enable more sessions in a smaller or equivalent form factor.
New 3D oven for solo sessions
Pax Mini has a new 3D Magnetic Oven that was designed for easier sessions. Theoretically, the simple, easy-to-load bottom chamber is simple enough for anyone. Users will find it useful to carry around the keychain tool or need to slightly bang the bottom of the device to get the spent load out. However, the wide heating chamber of the Pax makes loading and reloading convenient at the cost of portability. For the most part, users will find that the corners of the chamber are more likely to need cleaning first since squeezing your cannabis into the chamber seems to lodge dry herb into the corners. The heating chamber format allows for a very compact design that one would not get without this tradeoff. With that said, carrying your Mini in a pocket is not recommended since the bottom lid is prone to falling off your device if facing downwards.
Pax has introduced Pax Pucks, which are prefilled to combat this issue. One can assume that the device shines most when used with Pax Pucks. Using these pre-packed pucks, you won't have loose herb spill inside your pocket even if your lid does come off before your session. After your session, the puck should become fluffy and spent, making it prone to spillage again. Although the pucks are attractive, we still cannot consider the Mini a 3rd generation vaporizer, like the pod-based Arc S, since these pods cannot be created by users and are not available in most places around the world.
Super easy to use
With a minimalistic design and only one button that controls the process, this device confirms that it is a solid match for stylish beginners or lightweights. This device offers little to no temperature flexibility with only one temperature setting. Still, it will extract most of the essential oils from your weed with the help of a bit of stirring. To use the device:
1: Load your cannabis
2: Press the button to start the heating process
3: Wait till the unit's LED signals green
4: Inhale at the mouthpiece for delicious vapor
