You Should Buy the XKAH Lite If…
You want hookah sessions without charcoal, and you'd rather plug in and relax than manage coals or keep an eye on a battery. The XKAH Lite is built for hookah owners with a regular spot, at home or in a lounge, who want steady, consistent clouds and back-to-back sessions without a charging break. It works with the hookah you already own and keeps setup to a dial and a single button, making it a simpler, more affordable way into electric hookah.
Prominent Features
The XKAH Lite is a plug-in e hookah head made for everyday sessions at home and in lounges. It sits on your hookah where the bowl normally goes and heats your herbal molasses electrically, so there are no coals to light, flip, or replace. XKAH’s Trio-Heat Technology does a great job of maintaining a steady temperature throughout the session. It combines conduction, convection, and radiant heat.
The Xkah Lite comes with the option for an auto mode, which controls the heat settings for you, but you can also take matters into your own hands by using the custom mode that allows you to adjust the settings to your liking.
Both modes use the intuitive temperature dial, so switching modes or adjusting the heat takes a simple turn. That keeps the Lite easy to use from the very first session.
Since it plugs straight into the wall, you don’t have to charge a battery, and you can run back-to-back sessions for as long as you like. The magnetic connector also releases cleanly if someone catches the cable. With 2 refillable stainless steel bowls, you can pack your favorite molasses ahead of time and keep the next session ready.
The Lite also has nifty features like silent mode to remove sound cues, or lock mode to keep you from accidentally changing the settings.
How to Clean the XKAH Lite
The XKAH Lite runs a timed session. Once the bowl is packed and the dial is set, it preheats and holds the temperature on its own. It replaces the bowl, foil, and coals on top of your hookah, so you'll need your own hookah to use it. The part that takes some practice is packing the bowl. Here is a step-by-step guide:
- Step 1: Spread about half of your molasses loosely across the bottom of a bowl, working it into the corners with the fork poker, then add the rest loosely on top, about 10g in total.
- Step 2: Wipe the rim of the bowl clean and close the lid.
- Step 3: Place the bowl in the XKAH Lite so the XKAH lettering on it is readable.
- Step 4: Line up the arrows on the top and bottom parts of the device, then twist them together to lock.
- Step 5: Press the XKAH Lite onto your hookah's stem until the built-in grommet sits snug.
- Step 6: Connect the magnetic power connector to the device, then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
- Step 7: Press the center button five times quickly to turn the XKAH Lite on.
- Step 8: Leave the dial at the top position for Classic Auto Mode, or turn it to the temperature you want.
- Step 9: Press and hold the center button for 2 seconds to start the preheat.
- Step 10: Wait for the preheat to finish, which takes about 8 minutes. A tone sounds when it's ready.
- Step 11: Draw from your hookah hose as usual.
Pro Tips:
Packing the bowl makes the biggest difference. XKAH suggests 7 to 10g for a first session. Keep the molasses fluffy and don't press it down. Filling it right up to the rim is fine. Poking a small hole in the center with the poker gives the air an easier path and helps the flavor come through.
While you’re waiting during the 8-minute preheat, get the rest of your hookah ready. Once it's done, take light draws for the first few minutes. The clouds build as the session goes on.
Each session runs up to 50 minutes. To start a second session while the head is still hot, press and hold the center button for 2 seconds, then hold it for another 2 seconds to skip the preheat. If you're hosting a group, pack the next bowl while the first one runs.
Vapor Quality
Vapor quality on the XKAH Lite is smooth and very consistent, largely because of the heat source. With charcoal, the heat is always changing. The XKAH Lite heats electrically and holds its temperature steadily, which makes for a more controlled session and is one of its main benefits.
XKAH calls its heating system Trio-Heat, and the idea behind it is pretty simple it combines direct heat from the bowl with the heat that comes in during the inhale and the radiant heat that is mainly from the initial preheat.
Flavor can also be managed through the temperature settings. Because the heat is more manageable, you can adjust it in custom mode for a more flavorful or denser session, depending on your preference. The bowls are stainless steel, which doesn’t add any taste of its own. XKAH also says a 10g bowl on the Lite gives you about the same session as a traditional 25g bowl, so you’ll typically use less molasses than you would with coals.
The draw itself is pretty easy on the Lite. The air vents sit on top of the device, and XKAH tuned the airflow for a lighter pull. The built-in grommet helps here too. A snug fit on your hookah means all the air you pull goes through the bowl, which keeps the clouds dense.
Last but not least, your hookah’s water cools the clouds before they reach the hose, so every draw stays smooth, even at higher temperatures. The hookah you pair it with also affects how the draws feel.
Portability
The XKAH Lite is a device built to stay in one spot. It runs straight off wall power with no battery, so it stays plugged in during your session. The upside is that you never have to stop and charge it, so you can keep sessions going for as long as you like.
The cable is just around 2.5 meters long (98 in), so it gives you plenty of space to work with. The magnetic connector also pops off if someone catches the cable, so your hookah stays put. If you need to move spots mid-session, you can unplug it and plug it back in within about 3 minutes, and the session picks up right where it left off.
The device itself is compact and comes with a travel bag for the device, bowls, and tools, so it’s easy to take to a friend’s place as long as there’s an outlet nearby.
Manufacturing Quality
The XKAH Lite is built in two main parts. The top holds the electronics, the heating plate, and the controls, while the bottom holds the bowl and sits on your hookah. The two parts lock together with a simple twist, keeping the build straightforward and everything easy to reach when it’s time to clean.
The body is made of aluminum and plastic, and the bowls are stainless steel. Stainless steel holds up well to repeated heating and doesn’t add any taste to your herbal molasses. Extra bowls are also sold separately, so you can keep spares on hand.
Silicone is used where the Lite needs a seal. Silicone is heat-resistant and flexible, so it creates a tight fit. You can remove the grommet for cleaning, along with the lid over the air vents and the other silicone seals.
The controls feel solid too. The dial is very responsive, and the lights both on the button itself and above it tell you all you need to know about your sessions without the need for a digital display.
Temperature Flexibility
The XKAH Lite keeps temperature control simple, with everything running through one dial. The temperature range spans from 260°C to 310°C (500°F to 590°F), and you can manage it through 2 heating modes:
- Classic Auto Mode: A preset heating profile set by XKAH. Just start the session and it manages the heat for you.
- Custom Mode: Choose your own temperature from 11 levels between 260°C and 310°C (500°F to 590°F), in 5°C steps.
Both modes run the same cycle: about 8 minutes of preheat, then up to 50 minutes of session time.
When it comes to the auto or classic mode, the heat curve is predefined but in general terms it seems that the preheat runs at the hottest setting, then after around 10 to 15 minutes the temperature tapers down slightly, then closer to the last 20 minutes, it tapers down once more.
When it comes to communicating these settings, the Xkah lite does it mainly through the LED’s:
- Moving light: Waiting to choose a setting.
- Pulsing blue: Preheating (circle around the button gets bigger until preheat is complete).
- Solid blue: Session running (circle around the button gets smaller until the session ends).
- Red: Last 3 minutes of the session.
If you're running back-to-back sessions and the head is already hot, you can skip the preheat by simply holding the button down for 2 seconds until it beeps or the LED turns solid blue (indicating the session has started).
Last but not least, in custom mode, it's best to use lower temperatures if you prefer lighter, more flavorful vapor. The higher you go, the denser the vapor will be, and the less the flavor will last. You usually find the right settings by experimenting with your specific molasses.
How to Clean the XKAH Lite
The XKAH Lite is simple to clean once you understand which parts can be soaked with water and which need slightly more delicate care with alcohol. The bowls and the silicone grommet can be rinsed with warm water, while the top part holds the electronics and only gets wiped with alcohol. Cleaning the bowl after every session keeps the flavor clean.
Here's a basic step-by-step guide to clean the Xkah Lite:
- Step 1: Turn the device off, unplug the power cable, and let it cool for at least 20 minutes.
- Step 2: Lift the XKAH Lite off your hookah and twist the top and bottom parts apart.
- Step 3: Lift the bowl out with the tongs and empty it with the fork poker.
- Step 4: Use the pointed end of the fork poker to remove the grille at the bottom of the bowl.
- Step 5: Rinse the bowl, lid, and grille under warm running water. Use dish soap if necessary.
- Step 6: Wipe the heating plate with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab.
- Step 7: Let every part dry completely before putting the device back together.
Pro Tips for Cleaning:
For a deeper clean, take the silicone grommet out of the device, rinse it, and let it dry on its own.
Every few sessions, run one cycle with no bowl in the device on the highest setting. This burns off molasses residue that builds up under the heating plate.
Never rinse or submerge the top part of the device, and keep the electrical contacts, the power connector, and the power adapter dry.
Compatibility with Accessories
The XKAH Lite comes with everything you need to get started except the hookah itself. A few accessories can help make sessions easier to manage.
Extra bowls are what we recommend first. The XKAH Replacement Bowls are the same stainless steel bowls that come in the box, and they fit both the XKAH Lite and the XKAH Pro. They let you pack your next sessions ahead of time, which is especially useful if you want different flavors in different bowls.
For cleaning, we recommend Zeus Grime Sticks and Zeus Grime Wipes. The sticks come pre-filled with alcohol, which suits a heating plate that can only be cleaned by swab, and the wipes handle the outside of the device. Both come together in the Zeus Purify Grime Kit.
Warranty
XKAH covers the XKAH Lite with a limited warranty from the date of purchase. It applies to the original buyer with a valid, dated proof of purchase, and it doesn't cover damage from improper use, misuse, or poor cleaning and maintenance.
We handle the full term of the manufacturer warranty through our Hassle-Free warranty, so any covered hardware issue goes through TVape rather than directly to XKAH.
