Yocan Evolve 2.0 Review – The next evolution?
Weve checked out a lot of units by Yocan before like the Yocan Evolve Plus, and many more. Each time weve come away satisfied but felt that Yocan can use some improvements when it comes to manufacturing quality. The Evolve 2.0 aims to bring ultimate versatility to the game with a simple pod system, one for e-juice, one for oil, one for waxy cannabis extracts. Check out what we have to say about the Yocan Evolve 2.0 in our review!

Review: Yocan Evolve 2.0
How it Works
Using a convenient pod cartridge system, simply load in whichever pod you like to use and away you go. They have removable mouthpieces which allow you to load up any material or liquid you like with ease. No proprietary, non-refillable cartridges here!
With 5 clicks of the main button the device will turn on, and that same button clicked three times will adjust the output voltage of the device. Conveniently, the Evolve 2.0 also had a pre-heat function which lasts for 10 seconds which can be activated with a double-click of the button.
Temperature Flexibility
The Evolve 2.0 packs in three voltage settings. Unfortunately, Yocan hasnt mentioned what they are and its not listed anywhere on their site or the user manual.
While this doesn’t necessarily affect performance when it comes to cannabis extracts, the same cannot be said when it comes to using the device with oils. Having some idea of where the voltage is at is imperative for knowing which setting you should be using with their oil.
Regardless, we feel as though the three settings carry a good variety we just wish we had an idea of what the settings actually are. Users who prefer to know what temperature they have dialed into to get that sweet spot tend to lean towards units that have them mentioned like the Linx Blaze.
Vapor Quality
From such a tiny device, we werent really expecting much. And to be honest it did not really blow us out of the water. Every atomizer included performs, but the performance is average at best.
The dual coil quartz atomizer works decently well for small-medium loads of wax. While the ceramic oil atomizers are able to handle most oils.
The pre-heat function actually works better than expected, allowing you to get larger and more powerful hits than youd think. Due to the short vapor path, however, the amount of lung and throat irritation may be a little too much for most people. Users looking for more atomizer options usually tend to prefer units like the Source Orb 4 Premium Kit that comes with 7 different options.
Manufacturing Quality
Yocan has always missed the mark when it comes to manufacturing, which is to be expected when they offer their devices for basement prices. The Evolve 2.0 continues that legacy feeling slightly cheap in the hands, while looking nice from afar. The magnetic pod system is nice and snappy, the button does feel a bit cheap but overall its passable for the price.
Included in the box is the battery, a concentrates pod, oil pod, e-juice pod, USB charger, and user manual. A pretty basic kit and we wouldve liked to see a dab tool and/or cleaning kit included, but its not a big deal.
Users that are on a budget and still want something fancier and prettier than this usually tend to prefer units like the Linx Ember.
Battery Life
With 650mAh jammed into such a small device, we can say were quite happy with the battery life. Youll get multiple days of occasional hits no problem. For casual users, 650mAh is definitely enough for a bit, though more frequent vapers will definitely be itching for something with a bit more juice behind it.
Unfortunately, the battery isnt removable like other wax pens such as the Source Orb 4 Premium Kit Review that comes with removable batteries. Once the battery degrades that is ought to happen someday, youre left with a dead device.
Portability
About the height of width of a few sticks of gum stacked together, you might even sometimes forget its in your pocket just like the Utillian 5.
Thats really great for portabilitys sake, however, we also found it a bit annoying to carry around 3 pods at all times. With a couple loose pods in your pocket or bag, it can be easy to misplace or lose them.
Wed appreciate it if Yocan found a solution to conveniently carry them all.
Ease of Use
Entry level wax and oil vaporizers are quite straightforward and simple to use, and the Evolve 2.0 is no different. With one-button operation, magnetic pod system and easily detachable pods, its a pretty seamless experience.
As for cleaning, we don’t really recommend trying to salvage any parts once they become overly used and actually recommend simply replacing the offending cartridge when needed. Experienced users usually tend to prefer units like the Focus V Tourists which might not be as easy s the entry level vaporizers but does give strong and smooth vapors.
Discreetness
Since its so tiny and reminiscent of entry-level e-juice vaporizers like the Utillian 2, you can easily take powerful hits in most situations without anyone raising a brow.
A great companion on days out to the park, theatre, bar or anywhere you really like.
Overall Experience
A bit more streamlined than the other Yocan units, the Yocan Evolve 2.0 offers a step forward for Yocan units, but still remains fairly average for consumers.
Multi-material devices are usually jack of all trades but masters of none and this is true with the Yocan Evolve 2.0.
You would be better off with a dedicated unit for each material, like the Linx Hypnos Zero for cannabis extracts and the Slice for e-liquids.
