We like to focus on the positives because there’s a lot to like in the vaporizer world! But with the positives come the negatives and the reason we bring the negatives forward is so that all you connoisseurs are aware of: what’s out there and the value you’re getting for your money. So, here’s a list of the 5 worst portable vapes we think you shouldn’t waste your money on:
5 Worst Value for Money: Portable Vaporizers
#5 Palm 1.0
The Palm resembles a pipe, so when you first look at it, you’d think its a cool, discreet vape. However, after closer inspection it definitely looks like a toy you’d pick up at the dollar store, if the dollar store sold vapes. We’re not huge fans of the fact that it’s made entirely of plastic. It also works like the Magic Flight, but it’s not nearly as well designed. One of the most common issues this unit has is that the battery tends to stuck while you’re vaping, which basically means the potential to toast your botanicals it quite high. All of that being said, if the Palm 1.0 was the cheapest vaporizer on the market these issues wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but it costs over $100.00! Despite the fact that the Palm does work as a vaporizer, it has some design flaws and is far too pricey, bringing it to the #5 spot on this list.
#4 Vapir Mini 4.0
Vapir did a good job with the NO2 (to get a detailed review of the Vapir NO2 Vaporizer, follow the link), but they did a bad job with the Vapir Mini. On the good side, it’s a relatively inexpensive vape. It’s probably the cheapest vaporizer that offers a digital temperature control system. But we definitely think that all of that effort could have been put toward improving the design. It’s definitely not as “mini” as it claims to be, it’s incredibly awkward to hold and it just looks plain odd. Despite the fact that the Vapir Oxygen Mini 4.0 is reasonably priced for the manufacturing quality it offers, the oddness of it and incredibly low three-month warranty doesn’t instil much confidence in the unit, bringing it to the #4 spot on this list.
#3 Vapor Blunt
Vapor Blunt has gone on to bigger and better things with the making of the Pinnacle Vaporizer, which is an awesome little portable vaporizer. To get a detailed review of the Pinnacle Vaporizer, follow the link and to find out why we call it the Party Pinnacle, follow the link. But VaporBlunt’s first attempt at a vape completely missed the mark. The Vapor Blunt is a gigantic (literally baton-size), entirely made of plastic and just … huge! It’s not portable or discreet in any possible way, but the plastic is the real problem. The entire vapor pathway is made of plastic. This is bad because the vapour quality is horrible as a result and the unit is in general almost impossible to clean. So, the Vapor Blunt made it to the #3 spot on this list because it just doesn’t have any selling points: too big, too obvious, too much plastic.
#2 Atmos Raw
The Atmos Raw doesn’t really belong on this list at all because it’s not even a vaporizer, but since it is being sold as one, we’re judging it as one. The Atmos is actually an electric pipe. Now it fairs well as a pipe because it’s cool looking, discreet and portable, but we could not find a way to get this thing to stop burning botanicals. No matter how you use it, you don’t get vapour, you get smoke! This obviously defeats the whole purpose of vaporizing in the first place. So, as a vaporizer, this is an absolute and utter failure. The icing on the cake is that this vape is sold for a price equivalent to that of high quality premium units. Unbelievable. You can get a much better VAPORIZER for half price. So, it burns instead of vaporizes and it’s way over priced, brining it to the #2 spot on this list.
After much debate, Vape-or-Smoke took the #1 spot on this list of Top 5 Worst Portable Vaporizers. Here are the reasons why. First, this vape is just a plastic rectangular pipe with a vaporization option. Second, it comes with a built-in butane lighter (allowing you to change between smoking and vaporizing based on how you adjust the size of the flame). Now this may seem interesting, until you test it and notice the nasty butane taste and vapour smell, which can only mean that the flame isn’t entirely isolated from the air pathway. Third, the lighters are said to be exceptionally unreliable, so having the lighter malfunction will render the unit useless. Fourth, this vape is relatively difficult to figure out and use: the most common complaint from Vape-or-Smoke users. Fifth, just like the Atmos Raw, this isn’t really a vaporizer.
